I took my neice and her friend to a movie tonight they are both 15 and female.
They wanted to go to applebees after the movie for dinner and my niece is my
heart, never is any problem, good grades, nice and is a joy to everyone so I put my gun in my trunk.
and took them in to eat. While I was there I heard a women say look at that sigh are the
rapist and robbers going follow that order?
She was about 80 years old I almost spit my steak across the room laughting.
I then talked to my young wards about that sign and after awhile they were laughting too.
You going to admit its kinda dumb. Oh well for her I can do that this time but I will never go in there again.
I told her too this was the last time we will go there. we will go to someother place next week.
where guns are allowed. I do not understand the scared people do they think they are safer with no gun in there.
I sometimes think that the people who are so scared of people standing up from themselfs never stand up for themselfs ever.
They let others do the fighting and defending our world, I read a book along time ago thats said if you did not serve in the
armed forces of a country you do not get to vote, or run for office, service and you get citizenship.
no service and your a dependedant not a citizen. wonderful idea. but they did have other ways to become a citizen,
service of some kind, like a peace corp, and stuff like that.
and they said thats shix that says violance never fixes anything is wrong. there are millions of ways it can.
people in power fear the people under them if they can fight back, and that keeps them from going to far.

What a shame we live in a society where guns are considered "bad"...only LEOs and bad guys have guns mentality. But then who am I to criticized? I was one of those before. What do i know?

I guess you won't go there anymore. End of story. Appreciate your thread but do we really need a story for every single store or restaurant in every single city and town? If it is a national thing I can understand. I have never been to Kenosha and probably never will. Thanks for the update but unless it is national, it only means something to people in WI. As far as the shame of this type of banning---it has nothing to do with guns and CC etal--it is about business and profit---it is capitalism.

Personally contact the owner and manager and ask them to remove it. Tell them exactly what the 80 yr old said and the reactions of decent people. Then inform them that you and all you can contact will no longer patrionize any anti gun establishment. Do it tactfully and calmly but firmly. They will understand when the revenues decrease. Leave them your tele # to call when they see the "error of their ways". No business can survive without customers--they will understand that.

Exactly, why post it if you went in anyway? Yeah, funny about the 80 yo, but hey, you both made your choice. Why ***** about it after the fact, no one forced you to go in.

In North Carolina, restaurant carry isn't allowed if alcohol is sold and consumed on premise. I guarantee you after we get the laws changed, I WON'T be frequenting any establishment that posts signs against it.

We're fighting too hard to take my 2A rights for granted.

In fact, I'm rather disappointed in the post. Man up!

Applebee's

Geez, you guys, pretty hard on whitetiger. I appreciate the post. It's a national chain. I don't read the ones I'm not interested in.

Whether this is Applebees national or just a local thing--I do not know. It is interesting info but, quite frankly, everytime anybody posts a sign that has no national implications (yes or no on Applebees?), it really means little to this national forum other than being another local story about a sign. I certainly apologize to whitetiger if my comments were taken a bit personal--they were not meant that way.As far as CC/anti gun conspiracy--this is all about maximizing profit and very little (IMO) to do with a company with a virulent anti gun attitude. In SC not too long ago, there was a fairly large boycott of a bbq sauce because the owner was very outspoken on "civil rights and the civil war". Leave it to Walmart to ban his product--this from a company who buys a large % of their goods (if not all of it) from China, who make our civil rights problems look like a lovefest compared to their own abuses---face it--it had nothing to do with civil rights but had a lot to do with the people who frequent the Walmarts---capitalism/profits is the name of the game, when it comes to business decisions.

"it really means little to this national forum other than being another local story about a sign"

Your right, this sign is a local issue. I live in the Kenosha area, and have gone to that Applebee`s (not any more). But the idea or mind set this sign represents, is a NATIONAL ISSUE. It is another piece of information we can use. I think everyone who see something like this should inform the rest of us. The more we know the better we are prepared to fight. We do not expect you to come to Kenosha for the boycott, just reminding everyone the fight is not over yet.

The NO GUNS = NO MONEY card could be sent with a letter explaining that such a policy exposes their employees and customers to criminal attack not just while they are inside the building, but also while they move between their auto in the parking lot and the building. The sign effectively says "DISARMED VICTIM ZONE" to the criminal.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Gary

I think the bigger issues did you say something to the manager?

I think as a group, we should address this with the manager of every place we enter that has these signs. Even if it is to tell them we, and our family will not return until they eliminate the sign. We need to challenge them with facts and not belligerence

I for one go to Chillies in Delevan Wisconsin" which has no sign, and will continue to spend my money there!

Because CCW's have been so few and far between out here in California I have yet to see a sign here. I hope that doesn't change as some counties are starting to issue more and more and it is making the news.

"Head 'em off at the pass". Speak to the managers and thank them for not putting signs up prohibbiting CC. That way when/if the subject comes up they will have some imput on the issue.

Contact Applebee's headquarters and find out what the policy is. This manager may not know what that is.

Exactly my point, to post about a posted business, and STILL eat there is also NOT teaching his niece about her rights. It's a tough call, but you can't have it both ways.

Complain to corporate... our local one, nor has any other I have visited has no such signs so it must be the manager...
