Anyone using the Remora Tuckable?

I'm looking for opinions from anyone who has tried the remora tuckable. What do you think of it? How hard is it to get into position and tuck your shirt?
I have a kholster that works well except that the metal clips tend to scar wooden chairs and church pews.

I don't have one, but I've heard wonderful things by people who do. I might try one, once I get over the fact that it doesn't have anything to secure it besides sticky material.

Have you thought about a holster with leather straps instead of metal clips? Alien Gear gives you the option of either metal or leather.

I have the remora for my glock and shield. I only use it while I carry in my house. It sticks to my hip even if I am wearing sweats or gym type shorts (of course no belt). I choose not to use it for outside of my home, I think it will be secure but in an altercation I just do not feel comfortable.

I use one almost daily. I have to remove it to enter my office and customers so it is much more convenient to deal with compared to a holster wtih clips. I use a hybrid on days I do not work and do not have to worry about removing. So here is my review. Comfort: A+. This is the most comfortable IWB holster I have ever worn. Stability: B. Although it stays in the position I place it (about 4 O'clock just behind the hip) and will not slip out of the waistband, the cant/angle of the gun does change from the original placement of 15 to 20 degrees to almost vertical. Draw Speed: C-. Even with practice you may find your draw to be a bit slower due to change in cant during wear which forces you to hesisitate for a moment while getting that initial firm purchase on the grip. Along with the draw comes re-holstering which is just not possible without removing the holster from your waistband and re-holstering and then placing back in the posisition you want it. Concealability: A+. Gun disappears. No bulk. No clips. Very simple. Price: A. $25. A fairly inexpensive addition to the bin of holsters if you decide it is not for you. So there it is. average grade of a B+. There are some drawbacks to using it but you just have to decide if any are deal breakers. I use it due to the trade off of it being so convenient.

I have been useing one for over a year and love it. In Las Vegas its shorts and tee-shirt most of the year. I have not had a problem! I purchased a second one for the Kimber Solo I got last April. Its the only holster that I use, I give them an A+++...........

I tried for months. Never liked it. Was never fully secure. Made pistol way too big and bulky. And tucking is not an options. That is my iwb experience. Now as a backpack, glove box, nightstand holster I love it. Gun goes in and out easy and stays in place you put holster. I do not recomend as iwb holster. Find crossbreed is far superior.

Not sure what you mean by "tuckable". Unless they've made a different model, all the ones I've seen are like mine. The Remora was the second holster I bought after the N8Squared Tactical Original. Stays in place and holds the pistol very well. I can pretty much put it where I want it. For the price it's hard to beat. I wouldn't want to wear it or any other holster with my shirt tucked in, however.

Mine occasionally comes out with the weapon. Not a good thing. I emailed them and sent a message on their website, guess they're too busy to answer. It catches the rear sight, works with a soon-to-be-banned S&W I have here in comifornia.

Sounds like it might depend on the size of the gun you intend to carry. I use one, tuckable option, IWB, for my LCP (small gun!). Extraordinarily concealed. A few people know I carry and could not find it when looking for it. I've never had a problem with the holster moving, or coming out on the draw.

I got one a while back for my Taurus PT111 and turns out it works for my Walther PPS also, so that was a win win there. Now I rarely ever tuck my shirts in, but I wanted to be able to. A lot of that has to do with the season too though. I'll probably tuck more in the winter. I have used it once so far with tucking and you couldn't tell I had anything on. Personally I think this is one of the best purchases I've made for a holster. I mean Kydex has it's pros, but the only one I can think of right now is one handed reholstering. I know remora makes one that keeps tension on the top for one handed reholstering, but I actually like being able to leave it in when I'm not carrying and not knowing I still have it on.

I have two of them. One in small size for pocket and a larger one for a full size IWB. They have their merits and drawbacks.

I use the pocket version daily but I do not like it. It prevents me from getting a firing grip on the because the covers too far down the grip. To draw you have to tilt it out and then readjust the grip so you can fire. I tried to get it resolved but the manufacturer just did not seem to want to do it. It does stay in the pocket. You will want to take it out of the pocket to reholster. I have tried a couple of other pocket holsters that give me the grip I want, but they print a bit more and I have difficulty keeping them in the pocket during a draw.

The larger one I usually use mid back. In my experience it moves around a bit much. It will work itself up and then the weight of the grip makes the gun lean out of the holster.

They won't work with me either, I just stuffed some Kleenex in it to bring the sight out enough to clear. It's frustrating when a company ignores you after spending your money on their products.

Yes, and I never got an explanation of why he would not fix it. I even sent pictures marked where I wanted the holster shaped. It may cause problems with strength or something. Just silence. Initially the manufacturer seemed quite enthusiastic and willing to help.

I will have to try stuffing something down there. Maybe a piece of flexible foam. I hate to make it taller though. Some of my pockets are not as deep as any new ones I will buy.

Thanks for all the replies. I went ahead and ordered one with the tuckable option and I have tried it for several days in several diffent positions and I'm not happy with it. The holster does not fit the specified gun, unlike the one in the video, it lets the gun move back and forth in the the holster. The holster itself tends to move from a canted position to straight up vertical. The combination of these two means the gun is never in the same position and I have to search and regrip to draw. I tried tightening my belt but that made it very difficult to lift my shirt to draw the pistol. The welting aroud the edges is the same sticky material that secures the holster and tends to grab the shirt tail making it difficult to lift the shirt. This also pulls the holster out of position, again causing a fumble, search and regrip situation.

On the plus side, the material and sewing or good quality and the original model without any options should work. Provided it fits the gun correctly.

If you decide to try one be sure to read the return policy--- before--- you order. Remora considers their tuckable option a modification and will not accept a return.

if you are unhappy, contact alan at remora, he will do almost anything to make sure that you are pleased with his product

I have one, love it, no problems. If ordering one I recommend the "sweat shield" which keeps the rear sight area from touching skin. Make sure you use their chart to get the right size.
