Anyone looking for a really good AR-15 in 22lr, check out the Colt M4 Ops.

Took mine out today and sighted in my 3 to 9 30mm variable scope and after 3 scope adjustments at 50 yards I took it out to 100 yards and I was hitting a quarter sized group with 7 sets of 5 plus rounds each, and I haven’t had a single miss feed or fail to fire even after putting over 800 plus rounds threw it. Still breaking it in though.

Nice looking. Like the flash suppressor and assume a threaded barrel. Problem? Out of my pay grade, and .22 is still hard to find around here at decent prices.

I won't bastardize my Colt AR with a .22 cal. adapter. I would go a complete .22 platform like that Colt.

I at first looked at the S&W but I wanted a all metal upper & lower. A friend of mine had a polymer one (don't know brand) and all he had was feeding problems, so I decided on Colt. I got mine through Bud's gun shop because they have a layaway program and it worked out really well X money down and 3 additional monthly payments and boom it's yours. CDNN has it also on sale for $339.00. It tell you the truth, I didn't expect it to have the quarter sized groupings at 100 yds that it had, but I'm not complaining one bit.

Note that the feeding problems have likely nothing to do with the polymer lower, but with the general design of the .22lr action of the particular gun you tested. I had about 3 FTEs in over 3000 rounds in my S&W and those were ammo related. It is my understanding that the Colt does have a working dust cover, which the S&W does not. The Colt also has 30-round mags, while the S&W has only 25-round mags. It is also my understanding that the S&W is easier to disassemble for cleaning.

My setup: a S&W M&P 15-22 MOE with a Magpul AFG, Bushnell TRS-25 red dot, and Primary Arms 3x magnifier with flip-to-side mount. I recently added a SOE Gear single-point sling (not in the photo below). The MOE already comes standard with the Magpul MBUS and grip.

Nice!

Nice gun bofh. I'll have to show you my Colt if I can get some sunshine for a good pic.

Another item I liked on the Colt was an adjustable torque screw that you can adjust for different types of the ammo's FPS.
Also I just saw an E-mail add from CDNN Sports with a Colt M4 carbine 22lr Tactical rifle for $299.00

The one that was in the safe came from BW Outfitters and was $302.95. Looks like that is the going price which is about half the MSRP.
