I'm a lefty and my EDC is currently a Gen3 Glock, just curious if any leftys out there have gone over to carrying M&P's cause they are Ambi? I love my Glock and have adapted to them as a lefty the best I can. Recently I've become a little more serious about my training and i'm starting to think Ambi controls might improve my skills... I haven't shot an M&P yet but any feedback you guys have would help

i am a lefty. when i was looking into getting my first handgun knowing that i would be carrying it, and shooting it a lot i wanted a gun with ambi controls. i was stuck between the m&p and the ruger sr9c. i ended up getting the sr9c and could not be happier with my choice, its a great gun, accurate, feels great in hand, conceals well, reliable, easy recoil, and a great price. you should also consider the sr9c or sr40c.

I am left handed and got a M&P .22 for my son and I to shoot. I love it. I just ordered an M&P 9mm compact, can't wait to get it. I think you can't go wrong with an M&P.

I'm a lefty too.

For me, I actually switched to a Glock (27 gen4) for my EDC. Being a gen4, I can at least switch the mag release to the other side.

I don't really care to have an ambi gun -- At my, ahem, advanced age, I don't see changing handedness anytime soon.

I'm a lefty, and recently went looking for a 9mm as a primary concealed carry gun. I had narrowed it down to an M&P and a XD. I went to a local gun show where I could look at many and talk to folks. Stumbled across a Ruger SR9C. Ambi mag release, ambi safety, double action only. Very comfortable and naturally pointable (sights aligned) for me. I can reach the slide release with my trigger finger. And it's thinner, width-wise, than the other two. I bought the SR9C. I LOVE IT! Easily concealed. I practice at 12 to 15 feet. I am not a pro. But my groups were about 1 1/2 inches with 10 shots. Plenty accurate for its intended purpose.

Lefty myself and I have shot a few M&P's I was personally not a huge fan (just did not fit my hand the way i wanted) , I enjoyed my Springfield Armory XD's (9mm and .45) as well as my glocks (g21 and g30) but they were replaced once I got my 1911, i have been a 1911 fan for a very long time.

Gen 4 27. That was the first thing I did when I bought it! That was the largest reason why I purchased a gen 4 Glock. I wanted a Glock, but I needed a lefty version.

I was looking to buy a gen4 Glock 19 but heard about some problems with the recoil springs. At both of my favorite local gun shops the S&W M&P 9mm c was reccomended (I'm a lefty)...the search was over!...this gun rocks! accurate, lightweight ergo and concealable...

I changed about a year ago. The G23 is now the backup to my M&P .40FS. I just find the S&W grip to be more comfortable in my hand.
If I were in the market right now, I'd also be looking at the FNH FNP series.

I know it's a little more expensive, but you should at least check out the H&K P30. As a lefty myself, when i bought my first firearm I wanted to make sure I got not just a great gun, but one that was completely ambi. I promise you, if you try it, you will not be disappointed.
