Any advice on obtaining CCW in Suffolk County, NY

I am new to this site and I'm looking for any info/advice on obtaining my CCW in Suffolk County, NY. I already have my "Sportsman" pistol permit that allows concealed carry to and from the range ONLY. I'd like to be able to carry concealed whenever I leave my home. Thanks!

Always be going to the range or hunting.

I left Suffolk 9 years ago. Nassau was worse. The cops in the pistol license section treated people like they were criminals. Suffolk was better, but it's nothing like a Shall Issue state. As time goes by, even though I spent 40 years of my life in NY, I miss it less and less.
