Anti-gun thinking now extends to food

As we all know, the "nanny state" liberals believe we cannot be entrusted to run our own lives. They believe they can curtail crime by attacking the instrument (gun) of the criminal. They believe they can stop obesity by placing overweight children in foster care, God forbid a parent take their overweight child to McDonalds. Now they want to ban bake sales. That's right bake sales. We can't be trusted to have a muffin or cookie. We can attack the constitution without consequence, attack religion without being immoral and attack successful people for their accomplishments... but we can't have a cookie without consequences. This is not what our founding fathers indended. Americans need to wake up before our way of life is forever changed.

It's a crime to ban bake sales! The best desert I've ever eaten was a blueberry muffin ala mode...and that was in Quincy, Ma.
 
I will keep it simple, the Government does NOT TAKE CARE OF ME. FOAD. Can't wait for collapse so the weak die off.
 
Unbelievable!!! What else is next? If they want to do all things we normally do for ourselves for us, we'd all end up like spineless jellyfish.

Having kids come across a bake sale at their school is a potential learning experience. Having a cupcake or piece of cake never...never made anyone fat! Go ahead, have one in front of a mirror and see you are not any fatter then you were before you had that SINGLE cupcake. That is the key lesson to pass to the kids. It's called discipline, self control along with "actions have consequences". This thread stinks. Now I want a banana cake with chocolate fudge icing! Don't cut it so I can stay with my recommendation of "just one"! BTW I got rid of all mirrors.:laugh:
 
Maybe some of us outside Massachusetts could have a bake sale at our local ranges and donate the money to the Mass. schools. Wouldn't they love that, gun owners helping schools. I know everyone's school taxes are high, but what a laugh this would be.
 
This is what happens when a bunch of Yankees and Aunt Jemima get on a roll. In the South, bake sales have been going on forever, not only in schools but all other kinds of organizations in an effort to raise funds for different reasons. We have bake sales, barbeques and fish frys all the time to help out where there is a need. Plenty of pecan pies, peach cobblers, sweet potato pies, apple pies, cakes and all other kinds of goodies to indulge in. People have just gone crazy in their efforts to control our every action but I don't think this one will get very far. It definitely will not go over down here so, when you get tired of being spoon fed grass and other inedibles, come on down!
 
Am I being too cynical? Has all this "Nanny State intrusion truly jaded me?
I am sure that there are some that believe that banning cake sales will keep the young kids slim and trim while they sit in front of their computer, TV and video games just as when I was younger and Mom said get out of the house and go play! Actually I always wanted to be outside playing and that's just what I did.
This is what I think is the motivation for the others that think the banning "bake sales" is really all about.
Bake sales are very social events. The kids participate as do the interested parents. There's way too much community cooperation between the teachers, students and parents. Ban bake sales and you have no need for this intrusion of the parents into their children's lives.
Just another opportunity for the "State" to have more influence and control over the kids while the "community" and parents have their influence removed from child rearing!
If that is not a goal it is certainly a result! Think about it. All these "infringements" add up and become a dividing wedge. Exactly what I see propagated by this Administration all the way down to those "do-gooders" that know better then us what is good for us.

Our way of life has already forever changed. I've lost count of all of the changes. I think if we started to individually list them all here this thread would never end. I wouldn't know where to start. :hang3:
 
Not surprising, from the state that gave us Barney Frank and Ted Kennedy...and were proud enough of them to reelect them....and reelect them....and reelect them....and re.....

Goodness me OG...sounds like heaven!!! When is your next festival? I might take up your offer to go over for a taste of those pecan and apple cakes...:biggrin:

Mayors Against Fat People has just been started by King Bloomberg. He demands the immediate banning and registration of all forks and spoons.
Forks and Spoons are the cause of obesity in the United States decries Bloomy. If people ate with a butter knife they would eat slower and intake fewer calories and therefore loose weight.
This along with the banning of salt in restaurant kitchens would improve the health of all citizens leaving more money for the governments other failed programs.
His highass will propose a licensing system for forks and spoons that will be so complex and burdensome that no one will ever be issued a license to carry a fork or spoon with them and the penalty for unlawful possession of a fork or spoon will be a minimum of three years in prison.
He also plans to expand the program to State and Federal Legislators Against Fat People.
To kick of this new program he has asked the Obama Administration for 15 Billion dollars to begin a "No Questions Asked Fork and Spoon Buy Back Program"
Michele was so impressed with the idea that she immediately gathered up all the forks and spoons and buried them in her garden.

Glock: Good thing about being a Southerner, we learned to eat peas and butter beans with a butter knife at an early age. Also to poke a hole in a biscuit for butter and syrup, to make a biscuit sandwich with a pork chop or homemade sausage. Those folks up north may have a problem with utensils but we get along just fine without them. Poor things just need so much attention!
