Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said.

The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties..

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.

"I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation."

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.

In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do As I Say And Not As I Do" Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation.

It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine. But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

He's merely exibiting one of the premier traits of his kind: blatant hypocrisy. Makes me ill. :fie:

2012---Don't RE-Elect Anybody.

I don't blame the senator for using a gun tp defend his life. Now that he's come out of the closet he better start respecting our right to self defense. I really dislike "do gooders" with double-standards.

Ha-Ha, Yeah! Reminds me of how a Police Firearms Instructor I knew and Trained with over the years, told a story of how he and his partner responded to an intrusion alarm at Hanoi Jane Fonda's home in Atlanta. When they arrived, they checked the area, and noted that Hanoi Jane and another Female living in the home both were walking around in the house, holding handguns. Later as they were about to leave, the Officer asked Hanoi Jane, I thought you were against Guns in the hands of citizens and wanted guns to be banned. She replied, "Yeah, But that's not for us. We need Guns for protection." It's the good old Liberal Elite, "we know better than you peasants; We can be trusted, you can't" attitude. It's like Rosie the worthless piece of sh*t, *sshole, big mouthed, b*tch O'Donnell, (sorry, I'm just being nice) when she says on National TV, "if you own a gun, you should go to jail" and "citizens shouldn't be trusted with guns". Yet she has 2 Armed Body Guards escorting her and taking her child to school everyday. Guess you don't need a gun with Armed Bodyguards near you all of the time, protecting you and your home.

Not really surprising at all. It's easy for legislator's to promote and pass agenda's when the first thing they do is exempt themselves. Never thought I'd say this - I actually hope the wounded intruder sues the Senator, that would force the Senator to publicly state the right to deffend one self, family and property. Of course I then hope he wins the suit. [ he will ].

... [Reminds me of] Rosie the worthless piece of sh*t, *sshole, big mouthed, b*tch O'Donnell, (sorry, I'm just being nice) when she says on National TV, "if you own a gun, you should go to jail" and "citizens shouldn't be trusted with guns".

And, that reminds me of how Link Removed on her show for his view on guns and gun ownership. I NEVER watched her show, but that interview was all over the news networks. If you heard those reports, you know how sick Rosie came off attacking Selleck. His responses were as calm and measured as they could be under the circumstances! I feel he represented gun owners well that day!

In the last week plus, there have been a number of threads on USACARRY discussing rights and freedoms we have—and how best to exercise those freedoms and educate the general public while at the same time having a positive impact on attitudes towards gun owners and gun ownership.

Senator Soles has effectively demonstrated his elitist view on gun ownership, just as Rosie has… just as Jane Fonda and a whole slew of other anti-2A’s have done so on countless occasions. Most of these people are rabid-anti-2A, and their true rabid nature comes out when they go on the attack. Our best hope of preserving our rights as Americans is to VOTE like minded candidates into local, state and federal offices every time there is an election! BUT, our daily lives and actions are also being observed. We need to insure that we represent or views well.

My thoughts on the incident are, "... well done Senator Soles. I applaud your actions and right to self defense!” Now, let’s get busy finding a NC State senatorial candidate who will work hard to faithfully preserve the rights of ALL (especially as it pertains to guns and gun ownership), and replace Senator Soles at the ballot box!

Gee it is really hard for me to believe that we might have a Senator that is a hypocrite.

Yeah, just like good ole Chuck Schumer. Another one of the elite that owns
, but feels we shouldn't.
We need a list of all these hypocrites for advertising purposes.

Even the Anti-gun hypocrite Senator Diane Feinstein of California, has a CCW Permit and admittedly carries a snubby revolver. But no one else in the Socialist Republic of California can get a permit unless you're a celebrity in the Liberal Elite. Funny how all of the Liberal bunch feels they need to be armed and trusted, while screaming "down with YOUR gun rights".

Well, I do understand why liberal elites feel they need to be armed. If I was a liberal elite, I'd damned sure be armed. As for not extending the courtesy to the rest of us, well that's why they are liberal elite hypocrites.

We should all write him and thank him for defending himself in such a manner. As this incident serves as a another great example of guns for defense. So I say "Thank You" Senator, "Thank You" for showing us all that a gun is a great defensive tool and for giving us something to cite in court should we need it. Oh and "Thank You" too Mr. "BG" for getting shot, well all want you to know that you couldn't have picked a better house to break in to.

It's a funny thing... that little white speck on the top of chicken sh!t. Well, that little white speck is chicken sh!t too!

I think he should be charged with a crime. He wanted to make it a crime for everyone else. He's a hypocrit, a liar, conniver and skunk of the first order. Caught with his pants down.

My dad always said the difference between an anti-gunner and pro-gunner is one good rape. I guess the good Senator now understands this. Life is a great teacher and he's had the lesson of his life. Let no man legislate away my God-given right to life.

I don't recall the name, but there was another anti-gun North Carolina state senator who defended himself with a handgun about a year or so ago. I think he had a former friend come after him or something like that.

While I agree with your sentiment, there are many of us 'ordinaries' living in California who happen to have such permits. And I'm not saying I do or I don't...
