Anti-gun free zones

It all goes back to when the government pushed the gun free zone bull sh!t. Ask yourself this; if someone wants to commit a gun crime, where are they going to go, a gun free zone or a non-gun free zone. Sure have never heard of a gun crime at a gun show have you?

Every day you hear of more home invasions and I feel it’s up to the homeowner to be able to protect themselves and their family, because on average it takes a policeman between 8 to 15 minutes to get to your home after a 911 call, if you can even call them and a killer can do a sh!t load of damage in that time frame.

The one thing I think will dissuade shootings in schools and collages is allowing the school authorities & teachers to be able to carry a concealed carry gun. Let the ones who want to carry to protect the school go to a concealed carry weapon (CCW) course of instruction and be allowed to carry.

The gun club we belong to has a certified CCW course of instruction and they will allow any school teacher who wants to obtain a CCW do it for free.

Look back on the Aurora theater murders, the killer had two theaters’ closer to his house than the one he went to, but guess what, the only one that was a gun free zone was the one he went to, the one furthest away from his house.

It’s like what John Lott said in his book, “more guns less crime”. It’s a proven statistic that where there are communities that allow CCW’s that the gun crime is reduced by over 45%.

1. We have plenty of examples of gun crimes in non-gun free zones - hell we have people going into police stations and committing crimes with firearms. Rep Giffords and the other victims of that event were in a non-gun free zone. The "gun free zone" arguments are simply not plausible and evoke nothing but laughter from those who hear them.

2. I think everyone who is not shown to be disqualified should be allowed to carry concealed everyplace for self-defense (unless a private property owner prohibits it as it would be the property owners' right to control.) That means schools, hospitals, medical offices, airports, local government offices, bars, restaurants, etc. It's peculiar that the self-proclaimed 2A states usually prohibit carry in many of those places while states like NY allow their concealed carry licensees to carry in those places.

3. I don't think anyone should be allowed to carry to play Sheriff. Those who want to be Wyatt Earp should join a police force or become a security guard. The 2A applies to self-defense, not "I wanna be a hero."

Why limit it to carrying concealed?

A huge majority of mass shootings occur in GFZ's. Schools, malls, and the most outrageous, US military bases.

Train and equip military personnel in the use of fire arms, send them into harms way to defend the country with those firearms, yet deny them the right to protect themselves with firearms while on a base.

It didn't use to be that way but sadly is today. In the base buildings dad was in, at minimum he had a 1911 within reach. In base housing, we had shotguns and rifles. In buildings I've been in, there were roving guards in the buildings. Now days, they are lucky if the gate guard has live ammo.

Anti-gun free zones????? Isnt that areas that GUNS ARE ALLOWED? Or was it meant to be taken as YOU are ANTI Gun Free Zones?

Never mind, I think I just confused myself....

It will take a lot of train wrecks for them to realize those places they have banned guns is where we need it the most. Look overseas they are seeking out Christians and killing them. Church would be the first place where one should carry.

Exactly...because if Jesus had a gun he never would have been crucified...

Make a list of states that have prohibited carry in churches or still prohibit carry in churches. Note that New York isn't on either of those list. Neither is NY on the list of states that have or still do prohibit carry in bars, hospitals, medical offices, local government offices, airports, stadiums, etc., etc. States like Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Nevada have more gun free zones than there are in New York.

Still, why limit it to carrying concealed?

The OP doesn't know how to use hyphens. His title: "Anti-gun free zones" implies that the subject is "free zones" that are anti-gun. He should have titled it: "Anti-gun-free zones", or "Anti gun-free zones" to avoid confusion.
