Another Police Officer Fatally Shot In Akien, SC

As a current LEO, I am sadden for Cpl. Roberts, friends, family, and extended family in blue..... May you rest in peace Cpl. Roberts, we have it from here!

Nobody can argue that there is a GREAT disrespect for the men and women that put on their uniform each day, and go out each shift, having no idea if we will make it back to our loved ones, but we do it because we love the job, and the community we serve.

I get it, that there are some "bad apples" out there, but they are very few and far between, and nobody deserves to get gunned down, just because of the uniform they wear, I just hope that JUSTICE gets served on this animal!

I was a police officer in small towns in South Carolina for five years. I arrested men like Jones repeatedly for shooting other Blacks. If it was Black on Black violence without a fatality, they rarely seemed to serve more than 60 days in the county jail and were released to do it again. This didn't help the community in general, the Black community in particular, and the LEO community especially. Most did more time for drug charges than violent crimes. Sadly, this often teaches that they won't be held accountable and anyone is fair game. This is a statement about our broken system and race relations, not a particular race. Please don't take it as such!

Its a shame that our underappreciated LEOs have to work under such conditions. My heart goes out to MD Rogers' family.

He's an animal. Nothing more. Who would grant that thing bond. His non-verbal behavior says he a threat to society if released.

God bless Sandra.
