Ditto, completely. PARENTS, they are CHILDREN! You are, we are, responsible for what they do until they are 18, at least, esp., when it comes to them harming others with OUR firearms. It has to be that way. I was an immature teen age boy at one time and when I got into trouble, and I did, my parents let me know about it. If you, we, have firearms, secure them, or teach the kids how to respect them.

I will bet that when all the dust settles it will come out that this kid was on Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft or some other SSRI drug. That seems to be the common denominator these days. Doctors pass these drugs out like they are green M&M's. Your child won't do his homework better give them Zoloft.

My guess is you are probably right, the docs have my nephew on one for being to hyper. Kids need a lot of fresh air and sunshine, to release all of the extra energy. Can't forget to mention he loves sweets which isn't a good thing for a child who is hyper. Of course the sweets is probably what is making him hyper in the first place. Sure the doctors want to find something wrong with the patient. They have to pay their mortgage and take a vacation.

Why would any sane parent teach the nonsense of creation to a child, willful ignorance begets ignorance.

Even if the parents aren't arrested for their negligence, then I hope the families of the victims take everything they have from them in civil court, just like their son took everything from that teacher.

When, oh when, will states realize that taking away peoples' rights to defend themselves always ends up poorly for the victims, not the criminals?

Wow, you do take things I say out of context in a rather horrendous way. Yes I advocate anyone should be able to own a gun. Yes I advocate that parents should parent their children. Yes I advocate people who own guns should know where their guns are and be sure they are used in a safe manner. Yes, I advocate that we should all be culpable for our actions and our in-actions when someone's rights have been stripped from them or when they suffer a loss because of our action or inaction. What I don't advocate is the Federal government telling me how to do any of those things. Therefore, if the parents did not parent their child correctly, if they did not keep tabs on their firearm correctly, and if they did not teach their son correctly how to safely use a firearm, then yes, they should be civilly liable. No where do I mention that there are definite charges to be brought up. I know of no crime that they committed, but it would seem that if my "ifs" are substantiated, then there will be one DOOZY of a lawsuit against them.

I've worked as a teacher for 15 years, my wife for over 30 years. Never have we heard in any of the schools we work where the school officials or teachers demanded the drugging of children to make them easier to control. I've encountered a multitude of parents who have though. That's the sad reality. Then we have to figure out how to work with a drugged out kid. Trust me, this is NOT something I would ever advocate.

Maybe instead of being intentionally insulting and provocative, you could apply your "science, reason and fact" to the equation Ringo first mentioned. Answer this equation in a way that doesn't include a missing link:

"Nothing plus nothing plus time equals= something."

You can't do it, so your "belief" in evolution requires faith that we just haven't identified that missing link "yet."

The answer to the missing link question will forever remain elusive. The answers to the beliefs we base our faith on were written between 2000 and 6000 (+/-) years ago, and the state of the world today is so clearly, unambiguously and accurately prophesied in those writings that to deny it is to admit to either total ignorance of Scripture, or a belief in 6000 years of the most impossible coincidences actually happening, and all of it coming to fruition right now, exactly on time according to prophecy.

Anyway, your "science, reason and facts" around evolution are missing information for which you must have faith in to believe it's all real. Unless, of course, your "science, reason and facts" can solve Ringo's equation. I pray for your sake that you do solve it before it's too late.

If the kids turned out to be as you expressed, then by all means, hand your child a gun and tell them, "shoot up the place". :blink: Did you really advocate a kid shooting other kids because they picked on him and the teacher couldn't/didn't do anything about it?

My gun safe is a dialed lock, turns every time. The battery never goes dead; there is none! I don't have to worry about hiding a key where the sun don't shine. I chose this over the electronic keypad for that reason and for the reason that it is a PITA when those locks need a battery replacement, because then I have to find the key (you know up my lily white tail) and open it that way, figure out which battery type to get since it was so long ago since the last time, and then figure out how I'm getting that key back up there.

And here is a brilliant suggestion, wear the key around your neck on a chain. No need to perform a key colonic.
