Another gov't branch buying ammo

I read today that the Department of Reclaimation , that manages water resources, ordered 54,000 rounds of ammo. Now I don't know how many armed personnel they have, but that seems excessive. Maybe they are going to shoot holes in the ground to open up new wells.
Or, maybe it is just another Gov't stockpile ploy.

The Dept of Reclaimation deals with land that has been striped mined and is the the process of being "reclaimed".

Like the BLM they inspect areas that can be located in very remote locations without cell phone service and the nearest help is over an hour away.

I don't know about you but if I'm investigating possible felonies in remote rural areas I would want to be packin' heat. Plus have plenty of carry and practice ammo.
