Ankle holsters for full size pistols

Is it possible to safely carry a full size pistol in a ankle holster? Are there any full size holsters made for ankle carry? Has anyone tried to carry a full size pistol on their ankle? If so and it didn't work for you where did you move your CC holster to?

Thanks,
Walter

Im not sure if you can find a full size ankle holster. I bought a ankle holster for my subcompact Glock and it sucked wearing it. Its a lot of weight on your ankle which screws up your walking. It can print through your jeans, and it is hard to draw from (you need both hands to pull your jeans over the gun, which would be near impossible for a large gun). My ankle holster also beat up my ankle and does not stay in place. I would suggest carrying your full size the way I do, shoulder holster or IWB.

I agree with desert. I carry a Kel-tec p3at on the ankle and I think a CCW person could tell it's there if they noticed. I wouldn't even try a full size.

A Glock 19 is pushing the envelope at a 4 inch barrel, so a full size would far exceed the concealability of an ankle rig mainly due to the magazine well length (XD compact frames with the extended mag and spacer might be an exception to this). For comfort and concealability, I'd stick with shorter than a 4 inch barrel and lean towards single stack. The Glock 26 and 27 will hide well in the right ankle rig.
