Ankle holster for Ruger LCP

I've been looking for a decent ankle holster for my LCP and can't make a decision. I will be driving from AZ to Illinois and would like to have the LCP as my bug. (Easy to access when seated) I would also like it to be secure as I am quite active. does anyone have any suggestions?

I had a uncle mikes for a pf9 and it was pretty comfortable, and that's a heavier gun. I would stay away from bulldog, they seem pretty cheap. Other than that it shouldn't matter, just make sure the material doesn't look itchy

I bought a nice ankle holster with an extra mag holder off of ebay, just $19.95 free shipping, got it in 3 days. It fits nice and has very little wobble, I love this thing. The ebay seller is Bigbug40. Just type in "ankle holster" and you'll eventually see one that says "w/extra mag holder".

When you get one, I'd be interested to hear about how well it works, Is this a back up rig? I love to pocket carry mine as it's an unassuming quick draw...but I've alway been intrigued with an ankle rig....

It is indeed a backup gun. I have a Glock 23 for my main rig that I will carry in an iwb holster. I bought the LCP for times when I can't carry the 23 (summer t shirts etc...) But, when making the trip, I like the idea of having one on my ankle as it is easer to get to etc... When I do get one, I will let you know how I like it. On a side note, I'm looking for a pocket holster as well. I'm between that and the wallet holster. I'm going to end up spending more on holsters than I did on the gun. Thanks to everyone who has responded. I'm going to check them out this evening.

Illinois??? Is this a test? See you in 7 years or so.

Nah, I actually live in Illinois and have only been able to carry in Indiana and now Wisconsin. But... I do have a Utah and Florida Permit which gets me all the way from AZ to the border of Il. But thanks for your concern.

I went ahead and ordered this holster. Don't think it is the same one but it looks similar to the one you purchased. Hopefully it will be as nice. Thanks for the advice.

Ruger has a web site-- Ruger Online. Store. You can find a lot of accessories for your LCP. I just ordered a holster for my LC9

I had a desantis wallet holster that worked great. Nice leather work, held nicely and didn't print at all. I used a slim clip for my cash and cards ln my front pocket and my TCP in my wallet pocket

I was looking at that one this evening. Just hard to judge Quality through pics. And, being from Il, there are not many places where you can see these in person before you buy. Trial and error I guess. Helps stimulate the economy.

Not to sound like an internet tough guy but living in IL wouldn't stop me from protecting myself so with that being said I would definitely use the desantis or a similar wallet holster to keep it 100% concealed.

As an update on the ankle holster... I bought the one mentioned above from eBay. It is plenty comfortable and holds to the leg well. Concerned with the strength of the Velcro on the retention strap but might be okay. Time will tell.
