An excellent gun going out of production

In my opinion the .32 acp is a very underrated gun. For years police and private individuals carried them and did well. I suppose with the modern firepower it is easy to sweep them under the rug. But if someone wants a handgun with light recoil and able to actually give very good penetration then the .32 is for you.

Bersa is putting their Bersa Thunder .32 out of production and all that is left is the ones that dealers have now. If you want a very good .32 for carry or home defense the Bersa is an excellent gun. I have one and with over 500 rounds thru it there has been no hiccups at all. Well made, shoots well, accurate, dependable.
This is a gun that is half the cost of a Walther PPK .32 and IMO a better gun.

I carry my .32 at times as I also carry my Bersa .380 at times. Both are good shooting dependable guns.

In this age of mini 9mm hand guns, I can not imagine why anyone would entrust their lives to a smaller caliber. Having said that, with modern ammo, certainly a .380 can be an effective weapon, but why should I carry my Kel-tec P32 or Ruger LCP when I can carry my Kahr PM-9 or my Ruger LCR which weighs 15.5 oz loaded with 5 rounds of .38 special +P ammo?

The Bersa 32 was very difficult to find last year...

As I remember, the folks over at the Bersa forums (one of which is a Bersa rep) begged Bersa to import them again, and a batch was produced and sent to the USA. These are now about all bought up. If the case is made that the U.S. still has a limited market for another batch, Bersa will probably send us some more.

The ballistics of the .32acp coming out of that 3.5" BBL is not all so bad, but in the U.S. .32acp is considered a bit anemic. Still, many older folks (or anyone with hammered hand/finger joints, wrists, and/or arthritis in general) can benefit from the milder recoil of the .32acp as its a bunch less than even a .380...yet still enough "umph" (better than a club) to defend yourself (OK, maybe a SMALL club).

The Bersa .32acp is/was a nice (affordable and reliable) alternative to the considerably more expensive Walther PPK(/S) versions in .32acp.

It's my understanding, however, that this pistol (Bersa Thunder .32) is NOT out of production, it is just not being imported into the USA at this time (again) due to such a small market desire for it.

So a 92 year old man shows that one well placed round from a .22LR will kill you. Hmmmmm didn't he know you had to use a .45?
Bersa Sales has said they will not send any more Bersa Thunder .32's to the U.S. There are Thunder .32's available at some distributors in the U.S. but not a lot.

The .32 is definately capable of taking a bad guy down, maybe it takes two shots, all depends on your accuracy.
