I sent a personal message to the CEO of Amplify Credit Union in hopes of convincing him to remove the no guns sign (not a legal 30.06, but I didn't mention that to him). Here is his response:
Let me also state that there was only one branch that I entered that had armed security patrolling. He was in plain clothes with his firearm clearly present (open carried).
Thank you for the email regarding the Credit Union’s “No Weapons” policy at our branch locations. I’m sorry it took me so long to get back with you, but I wanted to circle back with our security team before responding. We certainly respect CHL holders. However, our policy is purely a business decision predicated on our particular operation as a financial institution. We believe that weapons in the banking environment is not a good mix and would counteract our own security measures. Our primary concern and focus is for the safety of our members and staff.
I hope this has answers your questions and clarifies the Credit Union’s position. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Regards,
Paul Trylko
