Ammunition Prices on the Rise

Well, since the 1970's oil shortages we adopted a use one buy two routine. That was when gas was .35 cents and in a short time was .99 cents. We had "Shortages" of products ad when we found some we bought more. I started loading my own ammo at this time and would shoot 50 rounds and buy 100 slugs and or primers. Did the Sheeple not think this was going to cycle again on the ammo/guns issues? (The only thing we learn from history is we learn nothing from history.)

“Gun sales have tumbled year-over-year” Hmmm, they must be using different news sources than the ones I have been hearing....

No kidding. Where are these inexpensive quality firearms located. I see top dollar everywhere.

I feel like ammo prices have constantly been going up for us here in California. Sucks that we are now forced to purchase our ammo in store too. Some local big names like LAX have gone as far to release videos and explanations to the rise in prices, https://www.laxammo.com/blog/california-prop63-ammo-sales/. Although prices are probably going up around the country, I'm still highly considering moving to a different state that is in favor of protecting our rights as long as my husband is willing to.

You certainly wouldn't be the only California refugee on this site. Both the OP and I are, and I'm sure there are others too. Be discerning though if y'all make up your mind to do it. All states have their civil rights problems, and the image portrayed by media is not always accurate, or necessarily even close to accurate, when it comes to gun rights (think Texas here as a prime example, though not the only one by a long-shot). In fact, gun "rights" is no longer operative anywhere in this country. Government *allowances* are the order of the day. Some states go no further than federal law already restricts, but those restrictions are nationwide and unquestionably infringing on that which shall not be infringed to begin with. But you can get a heckuva lot closer to what "feels like" freedom than CA by moving to any one of many states. We opted for the Deep South, partly because of lax gun laws, and partly because of cost of living, another major challenge you have as long as you stay in CA. Just as a typical example, I can register three cars/trucks and one Harley for less than it cost me to register one Harley in CA, and that was 27 years ago that we moved here. Registrations are still pretty close to the same here, while I'd bet that they've gone up significantly there over the last 27 years. Property is unbelievably cheaper, energy is WAY cheaper, property and sales and income taxes are cheaper, really, everything I can think of off the top of my head is cheaper. That would be true in some other states too, whether in the South or not, so put your nose to the grindstone and figure out where you want to go before CA starts building walls to keep you in like the great tyrannies of history, China, East Germany ect., did. In short, git while the gittins' good.

Welcome to the site.

It honestly is starting to feel that way here in Cali. I can't remember the last time California actually proposed or passed a policy in favor of the America citizens over immigrants. The way I see it, California only cares about actual US citizens and their rights if it means if they can continue to milk as much money as they can out of us.

See, absolute truth is not a myth.

They are pretty sleazy in the first place but then they added a piece to the legislation prohibiting driving back ammo across their border. My understanding is that you don't have to retail buy at a LGS but you can buy online and deliver through a FFL. Still a background check to do each time but probably quite a bit cheaper through a good FFL. No limits on quantity I don't believe.

Should have bought cheap and stacked deep before the prices rise again. Closing of the Lead mine was not a good idea for the military need's either. But that was what the EPA under 0bama forced.
Only recycled Lead or Lead products imported in the US now.

The ammo panic of 2008-2016 taught me my lesson well. We buy ammo buy the case and we stack it. We have probably 4 years worth now so we have time to wait for a sale
