Ammo?

Hi all!
What would you consider a full supply of ammo? I know it depends on how many firearms you have. Just looking for a general rule of thumb.
Thanks!!!

I definitely think ATF!!!!...good call Outlaw... Maybe it's Holder!.... But seriously your compliment of ammo will vary based on your enthusiasm I'm shooting and what your reason for shooting is... Remember an unloaded gun is a hammer!

i would think that depends on how often you go plinking. 1000 round bulk purchases will usually be the cheapest for most handgun calibers, so I don't bother buying in quantities less than that. I also don't bother buying unless there's a good price for what I'm after in bulk, especially since the stuff has a lifespan that will outlive the purchaser anyway. unless of course you're talking about .22LR, and that stuff can be had in 5250 bulk packs for dirt cheap, so no reason to buy less than that in that size.

which reminds me, gotta buy a conversion kit so i can go plinking on the cheap with some .22lr :)

If I get to 1000 rounds or less of any of my calibers I'm reordering. With prices they way they are, I always buy in bulk... I keep telling myself I'm going to get reloading equipment.... but that never seems to happen. It will someday.

In the end, I don't have a set figure to stop at... I try to have a minimum of 1000rds per caliber, comfort usually lends me to prefer 2000rds per caliber.

Always try to purchase bulk, surplus rounds are great! I like to get the Russian surplus crates of 7.62x39 and 5.45x39, containing two Spam cans each.

If the SHTF or an EMP blast in the US how long do you think it will be before you could by ammo again?
2 yrs, 3 yrs or even 4 years or maybe never.
210 Rounds total. (7 magazines with 30 rounds in each) one days supply maybe.

Well, it's not a bad thing to plan... but, you're planning on being in a lot of firefights eh?
