Ok my fellow gun lovers I'm looking for some good cheap 40cal range ammo and suggestions and where I can find it??

if you're looking for accuracy, I would suggest some heavier grain bullets with low velocity. 180gr is a good size and with a low powder (around 950fps), you will see great accuracy! I would stay away from lighter bullets with a lot of powder behind them though since they tend to avoid the bullseye lol.

Wally World!
Walmart has the cheapest prices that I've seen. They usually stock ball ammo of Winchester TulAmmo, Remington & Federal.

good ole' wally world tends to have cheap ball ammo. At walmart I have purchased 100 round boxes of 9mm, .40 and .45 ACP from winchester for a decent price. I have also purchased 250 round "mega packs" of UMC (which is remington ammo), and 250&500 round boxes of american eagle for a good price. the most recent box I got my hands on was American Eagle .45 ACP - 230gr target ammo. Shoots a little dirty, but, not bad... especially for the price. I mean, if you're going out and plinking, you're probably going to clean your gun when you get home anyway right? I picked up that 250 round box for like $90... which is a really good deal for brass cased, target ammo. Sportsmans warehouse, Bass Pro, gandermountain.com, midwayusa.com, have all been places I have purchased from..

Good luck buddy! let me know how it works out for ya! buying in bulk is more spendy, but you generally save a little...

Thanks I was doing some lookin on the net and found a site called luckygunner.com and the have American Eagle Fed 40 cal. Box of 500 for 150$ and some change. Think I may give it a shot. No pun intended

When you order it online don't forget to add shipping in your per shot price, that can be a deal breaker sometimes.

Yes, I agree with you. the last deal I got online had free shipping... which for 250 rounds of .45 is a good oh... probably 10 pounds or so.. ( i could be off)

I buy defense ammo online, but for a quick trip to the range, ball ammo at Walmart - usually Federal, which is a bit cheaper than Winchester white box, or the Win if no Fed is in stock.

If you have a Dunhams close buy, check their site for a coupon or a sale. I have been getting some pretty good deals with them lately. They just had 9mm for like $11.00 a box of 50.

There are a bunch of them: Bulk Ammo Cheaper Than Dirt - America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter and Cheap Ammo For Sale | In Stock Ammunition For Sale to name a few.

I always have dealt with Bulk Ammo and cheaper than dirt never had a problem. Lucky Gunner I've never dealt with but, I heard a complaint about bad customer service but, that was only one instance. With those 3 I just search who had the best prices one time it could be Bulk Ammo another time it could Cheaper than dirt but they have been the best for me. I just bought 500 of 9mm and 500 rounds of 40 S&W and 50 rounds of 9mm Hornady HP XTP TAP FPD 124 Grain self-defense rounds for 293.56 shipping included. If you use cheaper than dirt be advised that they ship from various warehouses and they will charge you shipping for each warehouse. For example I would have paid $10 more in shipping because one of the items I bought was coming from a different warehouse so; I just found something from the same warehouse as the other 2. Practice ammo to me is pretty much the same. I have never had an issue to date. I’ll admit I bought for the first time TulAmmo .40S&W for the first time heard bad thing about them but will see it’s practice ammo I’ll buy whatever is the cheapest. Now my carry rounds I don’t mess with. Hope this helps

Dicks has 200 rounds of .40 reloads for like $60. The do have some duds in the box, but they are actually pretty useful for "failure to fire" drills.

I'm a Sportsmansguide.com fan . . .

500 rds. RWS® .40 S&W® 180 - gr. FMJ Ammo (Product: WX2-180699) $150.07.

Was part of an order for over 2,000rds of 3 calibers. Between Buyers club and coupon, shipping and handling was free.

Fired up a box the day after it came in and was happy with accuracy and cleanliness.
