It's been hard as heck to find any ammo at wal-mart but I happened to find some here in a gun shop in south Florida and wanted some input as to what is a resonable price for .45 and 9mm range ammo.
I got 500 rounds of .45 for $180.00, which is about $17.50 per 50 rounds. Federal 100 round boxes were $30 per 100 rounds but I almost never found them even before the crunch. Winchester white box was $40.00 per 100 rounds and that's usually what I was able to find. So, I figure I did well as I paid $36 per 100 rounds.
The 9mm ammo was $350 for 1000 rounds, which is $35 per 100. Winchester white box was available readily for $24 per 100 before the crunch.
I know I did well on the .45 ammo as it is a good price compared to before the shortage. I kind of paid a little much for 9mm compared to before the shortage as it was much cheaper than the .45 ammo.
Based on the current situation did I do well on both counts? What's everyone been paying lately? The Internet prices I've seen have been really high, when available.
Btw, it was Remington umc ammo I bought.
