Am I anti gun if I choose not to OC?

Not trying to beat a dead horse or be an azzhat. Not trying to say that one is better than the other. Just trying to understand the thinking. In the motorcycle world, there are some folks who are hard core and brand specific, but for most riders it is not what you ride, but that you ride. I am finding out that in the gun world, there are some folks who are hard core and very specific, but for the most part should it not be how you carry, but that you carry?

I am a gun owner. I believe that as Americans we have a right to gun ownership and carry. The question is in this thread title and is very simple.: Am I anti gun if I choose not to carry, either openly or concealed? Yes or no.

To each his own. I only open carry while hunting, to and from the range, and while in the woods. otherwise its cc for me.

As long as you respect the rights of others to carry, whichever way they choose to and understand that it is the right of every citizen to do so I would say no, you are not anti gun.

Working for the state, carrying was out of the question, most of the time. So it all depends on the situation.

Personally I would say no. I think the entire OC vs CC isn't good in the long run. They both have their pros and cons. The main thing is that thay are carrying somehow.

If you truely believe that someone should have the right bear arms, and you don't bear arms, what good is your word?

I am not against folks who OC, nor am I against folks who CC. But if I choose one over the other, does that make me anti gun?

No, it does not. You are free to choose how to carry or if to carry at all (where legally permitted, of course).

You don't become anti-gun until you try to tell others they can't carry.

The key is support. If you support both CC/OC, you are not anti CC/OC nor anti gun, no matter what method of carry you choose.

And yes, I live near the tri cities.

Bingo.... And that is the truth right there... Thank you sdprof..

Only thing I would add is that... in my certain to "offend" someone opinion.... folks who CC and ridicule OC... or those who OC and ridicule CC... or those who hunt/shoot trap or skeet and ridicule those who carry... or those who carry and ridicule hunters/trap or skeet shooters... are all anti gunner "lites" because they do not support the right to bear arms... but are willing to throw everyone else under the bus in order to protect their favorite part of "keep and bear arms".

No.

Simple answer to the simple question.

I don't think it makes a difference one way or the other what your carrying preference is. You're either pro-gun or you're not.

You are not anti-gun when you choose what your own actions will be. Post crap like this:

I think the OC crowd is kind of nutty, just like the Westboro Baptist Church is kind of nutty. Every group has their nutty folks, and in the gun owners/lovers world, the OC'ers are nutty, IMO. Kind of like motorcycle riders...we all love 2 wheels, the wind in our face, etc., but the HD riders think their chit don't stink, and if you ride a Honda then you are not a true biker. I am mostly turned off by the attitudes from the OC'ers, much like I am turned off by the attitudes of the HD riders. Open carry to your hearts content, I just wonder if you don't hurt the cause more than you help.

and you appear to have one foot inside the Brady Campaign headquarters door because you are saying the exact same things about some gun owners that the Brady Campaign says about all gun owners.

You're doing a good job, though.

Not trying to say that one is better than the other.

You have in other threads, along with insulting people who do open carry.

If you choose to belittle people who choose to carry in a manner that is different than your, then you're anti-gun. Now, get the f*ck out of here.
