Always be sure where your loved ones are at when encountering bad guys

This poor guy has to be feeling very badly but I guess it could have turned out far worse. This is why plans have to be made in advance so things like this don't happen.

wow glad they got the bg's but sad for his wife and him who shot her
i wish her a speedy recovery
thanks for the news being from detriot i like to keep up on the happenings there
but yes it is important to have a home defense game plan, a safe place in the house near the phone and cover so when a perp comes in you can have the phone handy. even if just to call 9-- and tell them where you are. then leave the line open.....and if anyone is in the house to know where their safe place need to be, if not with you, so you don't accidentally shot them in the process of protecting yourself and or them

There's a show on TV called "Best Defense" and they have good pointers of self defense while out or at home. I think it's on the Outdoor channel or Sportsman channel.

i don't have a tv in my house longslide but it sounds like a good show
i get my news from computer and neighbors and sometimes that is way more than enough for me as it is
peace

This type of incident is one of thoughtless reaction rather than planned action. Good news at least one of the scum is DRT and prayers for a speedy recovery for the victim.

Hopefully the victims will get some professional training ............ though doubtful.

yes i can watch newsclips like that on the computer and do sometimes when folks bring interesting news stories to my attention
thanks for bringing this one to mine as i said i'm from detroit and always interested in keeping up with what's doing up there

Wife and I practice scenarios inside and outside our home working as a team. Verbal commands are few for simplicity... either of us can take point if necessary.. and yep, we know where each other are all the time. Even at home we know where the other person is because we make it a point to know.

Nice practice...but the last sentence...it is a little bit constricting. I know my husband is in the house or in the front yard, getting the mail or moving his hose but ... I don't want to know his every move at every moment and when...only when and if he is going out to do some errands or if he needs help with something. But I guess, this ain't gonna happen...

Now you know PACarrier -- why I like getting up very early in the yawning to do most of my complex computer work??? Well...before that bird wakes up???? get that???

Our family has practiced defense drills over the years both at home and on the streets. Always know your target, always be in condition yellow, even at home.

I believe it is imperative to have a home defense plan in place, where everyone has a job and knows where to be. Then practice the plan often.

My wife and I aren't "constricted" in any way as we freely roam around our homestead.... but if anything happens that must be responded to (bad guy or medical emergency) we know which room the other person is in (which direction NOT to send bullets)... or if the lawn mower engine is still running... or if it is suddenly quiet/or suddenly a commotion in the garage or utility room...

We don't "constrict" each other.. we just pay attention to the other's whereabouts because we make it a point to know where the other one is.
