Alright guys help me out with this one

I live in philly, where we have the stand your ground law freshly passed. Hypothetical situation here, I am standing on the train platform and a man sticks some ugly burner he picked up from some crackhead in my face and demands my loot. I say "please don't shoot me sir" blah blah blah, I hand him my wallet and watch and let him walk away or run whatever. What he doesn't know is that I'm packing a remington .45 in a back belt holster and I whip that puppy out and put three in his spinal cord (barring I'm that lucky). Now the question is, how will my self defense hold up in court?

I have gone over the whole robbing situation time and time again and this seems to be the best course of action the only problem would be legal issues. I get it I'm shooting him in his back but he threatened me with a fire arm. Would it make a difference if i got him to turn around with just enough time to pop his melon? Please give me some feedback fellas.

I'm not a lawyer but taking I'll take a shot, pun intended. No, it will not hold up in court. Once he has turned and started to leave, he is no longer a threat and you have no reasonable fear for your life. You make him turn around and you become the party that is a threat. Your weapon should be used for self-defense, not revenge or retribution for a wrong done to you.

You would be in jail for a long time. The threat was over and you murdered him by shooting him in the back.

You should leave your gun at home because based on your question, you're obviously not responsible enough to carry it.

Rob has a good point.

I'll add another; what were you doing that made you fail to notice a guy getting within your comfort zone AND with an object in his hand?

If you're going to carry than I suggest you be on top of your game when it comes to "situational awareness". Notice what is unfolding around you before a scenario plays out.

You want to shoot a guy in the back for $20? You carry a throw away wallet for this purpose?

While you are planning holdup issues, you should also be planning on how are you going to support your wife and family while in prison.

I asked a CC question on my first(and last)post and had my ass stomped into the ground. I will never ask for advice from this forum and I suggest you do the same.

Obvious Troll is... Obvious

Clearly, your first post and your last post were not the same post

So hypothetically if I asked a question that was reasonable and not a way to murder someone would people here help?

It depends on what you ask and how you ask it. 1)There is nothing like asking a question on literally anything that you do not have the answer to and want to know the answer to. 2)How you ask your question has a lot to do with people thinking you are a worthless troll just taking up space; if worded properly and with some degree of english compositon, you should be able to get your point across without sounding like an idiot.3) Everyone should realize there is a "search engine" available on the forum that may get you to your answer on a question that has already been asked. May not work all the time and be specific enough for you but it pays to try it before you ask a question that has been asked and answered several times. Still not a reason to stomp on anyone but it does cut down on redundancy.
As far as the question posed in this thread, a courteous answer can easily be given instead of a sarcastic, smarty remark. It belittles those of you who somehow have to feel you are better than others. In this case I believe that the answer is simple---you shoot him and kill him it is manslaughter if not murder. He is moving away from you, back turned, no imminent threat. You should note that in SC, (at night and only at night for some reason), if you perform a citizens arrest on someone committing a felony (I assume and obvious an proveable felony)and they try to evade your arrest at anytime before they are completely subdued or in custody, you can stop the evasion of the arrest by any means including death--in other words, you perform a citizens arrest you can shoot him in the back---then again this is SC and for some reason it is only at night.

Making the decision to carry to protect yourself and family does not include being judge, jury, and executioner.

I'm not trolling, trust me if I was you would have no clue. I was just asking everyone's opinion sheesh.

I'd say you got your answer...bad shoot, irresponsible, long prison term...and you shouldn't need to ask.

Do not commit murder....that is our opinion.

Your lack of understanding of what murder is, and that you would try to talk you way into finding justification for murder is what deserves the "sheesh".

You are absolutely correct. You're either a troll or not capable of handling the situation. Either way, hand your gun to the closest LEO and say you have no business holding onto it.
