Alien Gear Hybrid Holsters?

Ok I'm looking for a new IWB holster for my SR40c and I looked at the Crossbreed Super Tuck and others like it and came upon an Alien Gear Hybrid Holster. It looks pretty much the same as the crossbreed. What I saw for the guarantee is pretty awesome. 30 day test drive, free trades for life (new gun = new plastic shell to match) and a forever warranty. What I liked most about it was how adjustable it seems to be as far as cant and ride height. So let me throw this out there and see if I can get some feedback on this holster. Anybody?

I have also looked at them. Best thing is the price, start at about $30. Also, You can buy the kydex and keather backer separately.

I have one for my 9mm and my 380, They are made as good as any holster out there. Comfort and concealment are good. Life time warranty and kydex trade in cant be beat along with price of $38.00 dollars delivered. Took less than a week from order placement to delivery

Since this post I have purchased an Alien Gear Hybrid holster for my SR40c and I absolutely love it. Very comfortable, built extremely well and not to sound like a cheapskate (which I am) but the price was great. I would definitely recommend. Thanks for the feedback that I did get.

I ordered one last week for my G22 while my Springfield XD-S .45 is away for recall. I hope to have it by this Thursday. I'll let you know my opinion when I get my hands on it.

I'm seriously impressed... they have it available for my Chiappa Rhino! I already have a holster I like, but this is definitely worth considering since I don't currently have the option of any cant whatsoever. Maybe when I get my next gun...

Any idea how these would work on a very narrow woman? At almost 7" wide, my current holster literally takes up half of my back and doesn't play nice with my belt loops. Would someone mind measuring the width of theirs?

For those of you that purchased recently, how long did it take you to get yours in the mail? I ordered mine a week ago and still haven't gotten my email with tracking number yet. I was hoping to have it in my hands by now.

These are really great holsters. Better quality I think and as comfortable as the others great warranty.you won't go wrong with this one for sure. Will say like Kennydale stated I have been using the three speed more this summer, but your preference of course

I just ordered an Alien Gear holster... Figured I'd go with it since if I don't like it i don't have to keep it. They're moving stores right now, so I wonder how long it will take to get it... hopefully not too long since it's for a new carry gun and I won't be able to carry it until I get it. I am very interested in the 3Speed, too, but since I just bought a gun I can't afford it yet!

You have the gun that I'm about to buy. I looked at the same holster. Great hearing that you are happy with your choice.

Well, I just order the alien gear holster for my XDm .45 4.5 today because I needed something to carry it since I sent my XDs to the factory.

Here is my Alien Gear Holster I got for my Glock 22. So far I am very happy with mine! The G22 is a full size gun and this holster supports its weight very well. The leather is very nice and quite thick but comfortable at the same time. I also have a Shepherd Leather holster that is horse hide. The horse hide is much softer and smoother, but this cow hide is nice too. The kydex is nice and thick and very sturdy. The tension can be adjusted on the kydex to make it hold the gun tighter or looser. The fasteners on the back of the leather are flush with the leather and do not poke you while wearing it. The clips can also be moved up or down on any one of the three settings to adjust cant and ride height. The clips are sturdy steel and seem very strong. There is a cutout along the top of the kydex to allow for the front sight to pass through without getting snagged. The leather doesn't cover the grip very much at all so your guns grip will be against your skin unless you tuck a shirt in between the two. This might be uncomfortable for some, especially if you have textured grip like sandpaper tape on your grip. The good thing about this though is that you are able to get a great purchase on the grip when you draw. Also, if you are considering getting this holster to use for different sizes of the same style of gun (like a G22/G23/G27) get the holster for the larger one because as you can tell from my pictures the kydex curves in slightly at the muzzel end of the kydex. If you try to put a G22 in a G23 or G27 size holster, it won't go all the way through. I suppose you could cut that lip off if you wanted to have a smaller kydex holster and use it on the larger frame Glock if you wanted to.

It took about a week and a half to get to my door from the time I ordered it. It was about $41 shipped and that was a few dollars more for the black leather. The holster came with a small bag of replacement screws, buffers, and eyelets for your holster as well as a couple sheets of instructions. The one thing I noticed is that the gun doesn't "snap" in when you insert it like it does on my Shepherd Leather Holster. I really like that snap, the Alien Gear holds it nice and tight as well when worn against your body but it holds it in with friction whereas my Shepherd holster uses friction, but also the kydex inside the trigger guard is depressed slightly so it snaps in when you holster your gun. I think I may take a heat gun to my Alien Gear and press that kydex inside the trigger guard in just a tiny bit to get that same snap I get in my Shepherd holster.

Overall, this is a great holster and you get much more quality than what you are paying for. I would definetely recommend it to anyone that needs a good IWB holster and doesn't want to spend the money for a Crossbreed and wait for as long as they take to get delivered.

Wow, awesome write up I apperciated it and I did order one it just going to be in the winter months mostly when I carry my full size, since my XDs was sent back to the factory. I have a iwb crossbreed for my XDs so I know that it will be close to that one, the pics look great to I just can't wait to get it. The wife and I are going out of town this weekend and it would have been good to have it by then but no problem I can use what I have now. Thanks for the write up and pics.

Have one for my XDs, and have an Old Faithful for my XDm. Would definitely go with AG again. OF leather seems a little softer and more supple,
but over time, this actually makes it look a little more weathered and worn, but I don't notice any difference in comfort when carrying. AG is a great choice.
