When did none become better than some? Is this the new math I keep hearing the youngins talk about?
Just voicing my frustration again on SC NOT passing some sort of restaurant carry bill. More states than not allow you to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol. And now the worst of all: Illinois's new concealed carry bill allows for carry in restaurants that sell alcohol. ILLINOIS!!!
I hope we start work on a STAND ALONE restaurant bill in January and not wait till April. I also wish I got six months vacation.
Glad to see NC passed a bill. However I will take "no carry" in restaurants over that silly if you pay admission you can not carry.
As I may have said before, it is not the alcohol that bothers me it is the going and coming from my car to a restaurant, particularly at night, that bothers me. If the restaurant has any credentials it probably serves alcohol so I am not allowed to CC into the restaurant--therefore I am unarmed when I trek back and forth to/from my car from/to the restaurant in a dangerous parking garage or on a darkened lonely street or even a dark parking lot. Sure I could CC--who would know--but if the "what if" happened, how do I explain my presence in a restaurant with a firearm--I might get a pass legally but I sure as heck will get hung out to dry civilly.
Gotta write your elected lawmakers. Have friends and family do it too.I have grown increasingly frustrated since I got my CWP with the alcohol issue. There are so many of my favorite places that serve booze that I don't feel comfortable going into anymore since they are gun-free zones. I can understand a standalone beer joint but Outback? Give me a break. I hope this gets resolved in 2014!!
the carry with a paid government permission is now allowed in a place that charges admission (unless otherwise posted, and/or you must leave if asked by owner authority). there is a debate if you can constitutionally carry if you have the government permission slip
one of the worst things is you are leaving your firearm in an unprotected parking lot. doubtful if anything civil would happen to you. but ti is a shame that the government is taking the choice away. if the private business didn't want you to carry there, that should be between you and the business owner. if the owner didn't want me to carry there then i would not give them my money
