The Judiciary Committee NEEDS to hear from you!

There is a good chance the Chairman will NOT allow this bill to be heard.

Please send email!

RE: Please support AJR15 Claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. (BDR R-731)
Dear Committee Member Smith,
The average American now seems to believe that the mandate to govern resides with the federal government. Apparently, the executive branch as well as the legislators believes this also. With power grab after power grab, the federal government has disregarded the Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. Under the US Constitution, the federal government has only one mandate, to protect the inherent rights of the people. However, the federal government of today seems to have nothing but contempt for the rights of the people.

For too long, Americans have allowed their politicians to interpret and bend the rules of the US Constitution. This has gone on so long that the unchecked, self-anointed power of politicians has allowed them to believe that the US Constitution is no longer relevant, and that they are above any laws. The resolutions AJR15 claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (BDR R-731) reaffirming state sovereignty are the first steps in the attempt to put the federal government back in its place as intended by the Constitution.

The members of the Assembly Elections, Procedures, Ethics, and Constitutional Amendments - 75th (2009) Session have taken an oath to uphold the US Constitution and our State Constitution.
By denying the passage of resolution (AJR15), you would be demonstrating the disregards of your loyalty to the oath to hold office and the people of this great state.

Nevada should not bow down to the federal government and give up its own state sovereignty in a grab to claim every penny of federal stimulus dollars.

Those representatives who choose not to support this resolution may result in your replacement in the next elections, as the people of Nevada would question your loyalty to your oath to hold office and to uphold the law of the land.

Please support AJR15 Claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (BDR R-731).

Sincerely,
John XXXXX

Great letter, John! Many thanks!

I would encourage everyone to write not only your elected assemblyman, but also the chariman of the committee, the Speaker of the Assembly, and the Majority and Minority Leaders.

Thanks again!

Thanks!
Here is an update on the replys:

"My name is on the list as a primary sponsor.

Sadly the time is short and it is not yet scheduled for a hearing.

The determining factor in a hearing goes to the chair and vice-chair.
Elections, Procedures, and Ethics: Ellen Koivisto, Chair; Harry Mortenson, Vice Chair
Constitutional Amendments: Harry Mortenson, Chair; Ellen Koivisto, Vice Chair

James Settelmeyer"

"I'm a co-sponsor.

Assemblyman Ty Cobb"

People of Nevada may not realize the effects if this resolution does not pass. Even though it is nonbinding, it allows the state of Nevada an out from the mandates required from the stimulus package. Once the funds of this stimulus package have been exhausted, the federal government has required states to maintain these mandates at the states cost. Therefore, this cost will be passed on to the residents of the state through the increase of taxes.

Another important fact which is in the stimulus bill that if these states except stimulus money the federal government will require the registration of all guns with in that state.

This is very important and the people of Nevada should demand a scheduled hearing on this resolution.
I will be posting this on every blog that I come across and hopefully create enough e-mails to the vice chair person and chairperson whom are responsible for scheduling a hearing.

Tea party -April 15 in Carson City
10 AM to 1 PM
