I think your confused.

The grip safety on the kimbers works the same as on older 1911 models. if you press it it will not discharge the firearm, the grip safety lowers the firepin block, but to release the sear you need to engage the trigger and still have positive pressure on the grip safety.

so if you press on one and not the other the 1911 will not fire...so, if you drop it...for the 1911 to fire it really need to have the grip safety presses and at that same moment a ghost needs to press on the trigger and then it will fire.

I have not see an 1911 without any modification (stock from manufacturer)fire in such manner in my 20+ years or small arms and I have handled some really old 1911.
