Advice for New Concealed Carriers?

What is one piece of advice you'd give to new concealed carriers?

AN ARMED SOCIETY IS A POLITE SOCIETY.

Therefore, always smile a lot; don't act dangerous; keep your pistol well concealed, and always remember that the other guy might be armed too! A handgun should always be used as a last, and never as a first, resort. A handgun is NOT like the rattle on a snake's tail, or a personal 'security blanket' for some CC user to feel all warm and comfy about.

Over the years I've had several men slowly move their hands to their belts as we approached one another. THAT is an unmistakeable threat gesture which is easily recognized by anyone who spends a lot of time around guns.

No CC user should ever do something like that without having a very good reason. Your personal attitude is important. Just because someone's got a pistol does NOT automatically make him the biggest baddest mofo on the block. Remember: You're always going to be better off if the other guy doesn't realize that you're armed UNTIL he really needs to know that information! ;)
