The magazine has come up with some classics. I'd add several more. Of these 15, my favorite is Coca-Colas ,"The pause that refreshes." Is yours in the top 15? Add some more that you remember up to the year 2000.

1. "Diamonds are forever" - DeBeers
2. "Just do it" - Nike
3. "The pause that refreshes" - Coca-Cola
4 "Tastes great, less filling" - Miller Lite
5."We try harder" - Avis
6."Good to the last drop" - Maxwell House
7."Breakfast of champions" - Wheaties
8."Does she ... or doesn't she?" - Clairol
9."When it rains, it pours" - Morton Salt
10."Where's the beef?" - Wendy's

Honorable mentions

"Look Ma, no cavities!" - Crest toothpaste
"Let your fingers do the walking" - Yellow Pages
"Loose lips sink ships" - public service
"M&Ms melt in your mouth, not in your hand" - M&M candies
"We bring good things to life" - General Electric

144 views and not one opinion or added suggestion! :help: I'll add (pun intended) one of my own.

"I'd walk a mile for a Camel." - Camel Cigarettes

"It's Shake-n-Bake, and ah helped!"

"Dr. Pepper, good at 10, 2, and 4".

"Coke has the taste you never get tired of".

Ah yes! Mr. Whiffle admonishing housewives to quit squeezing the Charmin, and when he takes the package away, he starts squeezing too!

I could go on and on about the different perfumes, makeup, hair products and more, all designed to get ladies' husbands all over them like red-on-pepper when they got off work, after she fixed a 3 course meal, and after the poor housewife was on the business end of a mop and vacuum cleaner all day.

I remember June Lockhart shown on camera (Lassie) as being pretty good on the business end of a mop and broom many episodes, and wearing an apron as well.

Back then, it was shown that it was a woman's lot to suffer. I wonder if that somehow didn't add to the ranks of men in wifebeater T-shirts, physically abusing their spouses as it showed them in a subordinate and subjugate light.

I remember one episode of Bewitched when Darren was upset with Samantha because she missed something on the carpet, and when she bent-over to pick it up, he gave her a spank on her bottom (that sounds like fun...kidding, of course). This type of behavior on film surely caused some spousal abuse, and even years ago, I recognized there was something very flawed about showing women as domestic slaves.

Today, I believe the modern woman would take a shotgun to those old reels of video tape the networks have stashed away in vaults.

Oops, I veered off topic. Sorry.
