Stand Your Ground
Support The Right to Fight Back For Your Life
Those of you who follow our press releases and newsletters are aware that we do not tend to exaggerate the criticality of any given piece of legislation or situation. There have been some important bills over the past few years that we at Florida Carry have either asked you to support or oppose to help secure your right to bear arms. Our work has always been aimed at either removing undue restrictions on the possession of firearms and defensive weapons or to insure that you will have a fighting chance at life if faced with a violent criminal intent on harming you or your family.
Today we’re calling on you to do more in defense of your right to a fighting chance at life. We’re in a critical fight right now to insure that we don’t return to a time when people were prosecuted after they clearly and justifiably used force to save their own lives.
The stakes are too high for you to sit this out.
We’re counting on you to “Stand Your Ground” in support of protecting and strengthening Florida’s Self-Defense Castile Doctrine Laws. Governor Scott has organized a taskforce to examine Florida’s self-defense and gun laws. This taskforce will be holding hearings and town hall meetings statewide.
Florida Carry will be sending experts to testify and advise the taskforce about Florida’s self-defense laws and how they should be strengthened to better protect the law-abiding people of Florida from frivolous lawsuits, arrests without proper cause, and malicious prosecutions that continue today despite the improvements made when “Stand your Ground” was passed seven years ago.
We need your voice at these town hall meetings, we need your support in defending and strengthening Florida’s self-defense laws, and we urgently need your membership to make this all possible.
We must withstand the current and upcoming attacks on your right to an effective self-defense. We must preserve your right to a chance at a normal life after your have been forced to defended yourself.
