A possible way to fight back?

I found this website for creating and promoting petitions. Seems like mostly liberal type stuff and a whole lot of environmentalist crap, but the sites intended purpose is to create and promote social change. Seems to me that getting business owners and politicians to uphold the second amendment would be a wonderful change, so I created a petition to try and get my local movie theater to stop trying to prohibit lawful concealed carry on their premises. If it works it could really be a way to fight back against businesses who don't allow lawful carry, and a way to help each other petition both businesses and politicians.

Please check it out, sign it, and consider creating your own petition to try and change peoples minds about firearms:

Criminal Justice Petition: Larry H. Miller Megaplex theaters: Stop prohibiting the lawful possession of firearms in their theaters. | Change.org

Edit: I guess this is nothing new since I just noticed someone posted a similar petition yesterday. Still seems like a good idea though!

If you get nothing but a red screen you can find the petition if you scroll all the way down. Sometimes hitting refresh fixes the issue for me, but I'm not sure if it's just an issue with the browser I'm using.

just like all the other petitions...focus specifically on concealed carry. Good luck, I will wait for a 2a petition to sign.

Since there are so many complaints that the democrats are slowly inching away our second amendment rights, I would have thought that any attempt to start inching them back would be a welcome effort. If you don't want to be on board with that then why don't you take 20 minutes and create a 2a petition instead of waiting for someone else to do it?

Your petition has an error...the man was lawfully in possession of the firearms

I know he bought them legally. Didn't think it was legal for him to be carrying them though. I guess he got around not having a concealed carry permit by leaving them in his car until he was ready to go on his rampage. Thanks for the heads up.

I could, but just like this petition it won't get the support needed because of the fragmented gun community that can't stop looking down at one another as to how much infringements they deem to be "reasonable, acceptable, and appropriate."

Sounds like you won't do it because you think people will have the same reaction to your petition as you had to mine.

It doesn't dole out the exact right amount of liberty that you want, so it's not worth supporting? Seriously?!?

I really hope that's not a typical view or all of us really are doomed to lose our right to bear arms.

He walked in unarmed, snuck out through a fire exit that he propped open, grabbed his gear and his guns and went back in through the same fire exit.

Sounds like a well thought out plan. Very doubtful a mental patient could have planned this. This man was probably just full of hate for society in general, he will probably blame his parents for not giving him enough quality time. I still say, we skip the trial and go straight to the execution. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, he definitely needs to pay for what he has done, especially for the children.

You are exactly right, that is what I was saying, I know it won't gather support because too many 2a 'supporters' hate on open carry. That is why our right is being stripped away, fragmentation. And yes, if it is not for 100% freedom, I won't support it. So, dole out the right amount (100% pretty easy to remember) and I will support it. My 2A is not something I will play with, I wont give and take on it just so someone can feel they made a "reasonable, acceptable, and appropriate" law that is balanced between anti-gun groups and 2A groups. Especially when the law has all ready been written, the 2A is the most reasonable, acceptable, and appropriate gun law, for everyone everywhere. It's a hard pill to swallow, but openly carrying a firearm has opened my eyes to the worst group against firearms rights, that being a large portion of concealed carriers.

If I were to make a petition that stated something along the lines of, "Good guys open carry, criminals hide their weapons and intentions. Openly carrying a firearm has a strong deterrent value that movie theaters can use. Please, allow those of us who open carry to legally enter movie theaters." Would you support it? Would any concealed carrier support it? Of the thousands of concealed carriers on this site, I can only name a dozen, maybe a couple more, that conceal and fully support open carrying.

You know...maybe I will start a petition for it, not just to get theaters to allow any form of carry, but to see how bad the fragmentation is. When I get the results back, I will post them up on here. If I am wrong, then that is still a win for the gun community.

I personaly don't care how a person carries just as long as they are carrying. I know some CCW guys have an adversion to OC but they need to get over it and come together. We are suppose to be one and not be divided into my group and your group. Carry your weapon however you feel comfortable carrying it. Thats just MHO.
