a little upset with my sons school

His social studies teacher today, explained to all the kids how "assault weapons" specifically the AR15, you can't hunt with!! I'm sorry but I hunt with mine every year. I'm thinking about having a talk with the principle and maybe shedding a little insight on this subject. I think this lady needs to be educated
 
Educated is a good word. I was thinking something else, but educated is good.
 
Trying to do my best to keep from saying what I really want to, I don't think they should be educating these children on an opinion and not actual facts and on something they obviously know nothing about
 
Please do confront the issue. All of these little things add up to big things. Trust me, I know. I live in NY.
 
That's exactly what I'm afraid of, I really feel like I should say something but also think I should let it go
 
Would ask for a meeting with the teacher and ask her to explain the term and what makes a weapon an assault weapon, if not tell her to shut up.

Tell your son to raise his hand in class and bring it up. Then let him school her on the definition. If he gets into trouble, exploit it.
 
I absolutely agree. I'm not a hunter, but have seen people hunt with AR15's. Nothing wrong with educating the educators at all.
 
I would have him point out that the 2nd Amendment has ZERO to do with hunting.

You'll have better luck speaking to your socks. These are the same people who call the Boston Tea Party "a bunch of whiners." They do what they do for a reason.
 
This teacher doesn't care what any parent thinks. Wastin your breath. Teach your son to correct him in front of the class. Now that's a kick in the rear.
 
I would ask her for a written definition of assault weapon. I have no assault weapons...mine are all defense weapons.
 
Here, educate this one too. He opened his mouth and spoke the above abomination, then made us sing the preamble to the constitution, covered freedom of speech and religion and skipped the 2a. Kicked me out of class for questioning his patriotism. Also geared kids against the military. Picks out kids who are going to join and demoralizes them.

He has a great little museum going in his classroom. Be a shame if he were to get fired.
 
In the best case they may give you lip service and listen so you will hush up and go away, and in the worst case they could call the law and report that your a trouble maker, honestly I doubt the teacher will ever understand what your talking about, the news says assault weapon, so to her its a assault weapon, and when she was told you cannot hunt with a assault weapon she did not know the differance, but in case you go ahead with your quest, I wish you the best of luck
 
I hunt with my AR and love it. Were I hunt, 99% of the shots are under 75 yards. AR with a Eotech is sweet. Easy to acquire a fast moving deer and light to carry as well as accurate. I did buy a 10 round mag for it as the law in SC says max capacity in a DBM is 10. Educate you teacher and make a complaint to the administration that one of their teachers is "teaching" false info and you don't appreciate it. Also, write the school board.

see this is the problem with us if you were a liberal you would stand on this soapbox and take as far as you could but you are showing some logic that is making you hesitate. ride this sucker to the top and start a fire when you get there!
