A gun ban won't help one bit. Here's proof.

Banned
For over 100 years, Wisconsin residents were basically and virtually unarmed while in public. The climate here is overtly hostile to the presence of firearms. It's no wonder that, with all the wilderness here, this state would end up being a major producer of serial killers, mass murderers and hate groups. In the early 1900s, firearms were basically used for hunting, home defense and in gang related crimes. There was also basically no glamorization of violence and murder in the media. the message was overtly positive. Firearms were used in school and responsibility and firearm safety was taught early. Sadly, things change. Since the 1960's, mass media firms have used violence to sell movies, regardless of the impact it has on childrem. i was born in 1984, a G rated movie was a nature loving, hug and kiss your mother, everybody gets along fairy tale. Literally. By 1995, a G rated movie was extremely violent and included big breasted scantily clad slutty princess. In 1996, Gov. Tommy Thompson gave us back our right to bear arms by signing the Second Amendment back into the state's constitution. For a good reason, too. Shootings are on the rise, as you should expect, because of the degradation and perversion of our culture. Mental illness is rampant and largely unchecked. I (and I'm not alone)blame it on an overexposure to the degenerate message that we allow the mass media to distribute to us, and more importantly, OUR CHILDREN. I have two daughters, 4 and 2. It makes me physically sick to think of the things that they will want to do, or do, in their teenage years. And they won't have to live with shame, because they won't be taught humility (unless they're listening to me, which I doubt.). The world is in a downward spiral. But it's not guns.

Before guns were popular tools of death, here is a few WISCONSIN examples of average tools, that we all have around our homes, being used to murder many. And Wisconsin knows killers. It is the land of the crazy and mentally ill.

1. 1914 Frank Lloyd Wright, the famous architect built his trademark home, Taliesin. Julian Carlton murdered 7 and torched the house with gasoline after being fired...including the 9 year old daughter of Ms. Bothwick (Wright's mistress). Little Martha was hit 3 times with a HATCHET after escaping the inferno. The weapons? A hatchet and can of gasoline.

2. 1980s Jeffrey Dahmer. Killed 16 in Wisconsin, 1 in Ohio. Never used a gun. He used KNIVES. He cut up the bodies and stored remains in his apartment.

3. Ed Gein. killed 2, desecrated 12 graves. He skinned and eviscerated his victims. Also created decorations for his house out of their organs. Used knives and meat hooks.

4. On Nov. 24, 1917, anarchists killed 10 and wounded dozens after a failed assassination attempt on Pastor August Giulliani. Their bomb was brought into a police station after being found under the church.

During this period. guns were all but prohibited in public. Open carry, which was and still is legal, was a punishable act. Guns are not the problem. It is mankind's propensity to violence and inherent ability to destroy life. Ban guns, and men will pick up the nearest sharp or blunt object and kill with it. Let's fix our culture.

If Mayor Bloomberg wants to ban guns then he should ban ALL guns in New York City. Then after he does this I want "Mr I know best" to stroll through Central Park without body guards or a personal hand gun, since they would be banned, every night for a month. Also I would like him to take out a life insurance policy with the NRA as the beneficiary.

Bet he would not walk through Central Park.

Will Sen. Klobuchar be joining him? Getting tired of seeing her pretend to care about the troops.

TV, Movies, and News Media are all problems. The wife and I also would like to see the games the kids play changed, it's not Mario or Pac Man anymore.

That is true! I myself play some violent games, but I am also 28 and am not influenced by that material. Game ratings need to be enforced by law. Thankfully some retailers put restrictions into place.

WHAT??? I played and STILL play all kinds of FPS games ( first person shooter to you noobs ) and I am over 40. I have machine guns, suppressors, other NFA toys as well as a few standard firearms. The media nor games is the issue. RESPONSIBILITY is! We do not teach it nor require it in fact everything in the United States includes a qualifier as to why if you are hurt or in any way adversely effected why it is NOT you're fault. You smoke and get cancer not you're fault it is the people who made the ciggs. You get shot not the shooters fault but the company that made the firearm. Get fat not you're fault the people that made the food are to blame. Can not be bothered to work and earn a living it is not you're fault it is those big companies who are making money here is some welfare. To stupid to use a condom and get knocked up not you're fault here is some taxpayer money to fund the child life until they are old enough to get there own welfare check. So on and so on and so on.

As some point people have to stand up and say no YOU did it YOU are RESPONSIBLE for the outcome.

When the decree comes down from the government that outlaws gun possession, several million gun owners will become criminals overnight by refusing to obey Big Brother. And they will ALL be armed to the teeth! To put it into Southern vernacular, "There is more of us'uns than there is of the those'uns." I wonder how "they" propose to take up all weapons? That will be more of a chore than they think!

Several million, there's more like 30 million registered guns. The way people are buying them lately I would think no one plans on handing guns over.
Would like to see how many unregistered guns are in America. In just my case with Dad's guns, Grandpa's guns, Great Uncle's guns, and my brother's guns, I have 4 unregistered for each one that's registered. I know many friends have the same type of collection.
Watching TV, they just talked about all the guns people turned in at Calif for the buy back program. Calif is wacko.

I don't know about registered guns but the figure I keep hearing about is 300 million in USA. Now I may be wrong about that but I have read that number at least dozen times.
Now down South their gonna play hell trying to collect around here. They have been trying to stop the moonshiners for over a 100 years. I think trying to get our guns isn't going to fair any better!
But all mine went down in a terrible boating accident after burning to the water line. :cray:

As I'm sure Oldgrunt would agree, "they better bring their lunch! It's gonna be a long day!" :haha:

After much thought about the shooting in Conn. and all the guns in America I have swerved into the how to stop these kinds of shootings. It was Bush's fault and if we put him in jail then the problem will be solved!
