A good day at the range...

Had a chance to try out my Izmash 7.62x39 conversion (AK) rifle along with a Volquartsen Super Light 10/22. Pretty happy with the AK. The only issue I had was there were a couple times when the trigger didn't reset. Cartridge ejected and the next round loaded with out issue, but the trigger didn't reset. It only happened a couple times, I have to get that figured out for obvious reasons. If anyone has any ideas... they would be greatly appreciated. The 10/22 worked flawlessly. The trigger is amazing. It did take a while to get the scope dialed in for it was way off the target when starting out. That rifle is so much fun to shoot, I couldn't believe it, all I wanted to do is keep loading and shooting. A great time indeed.

There's a saying that says "There's a reason you never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist's office". Every motorcyclist knows that the open road is therapy enough.

I believe this is true for every shooter. A bad day at the range is better than any good day away from the range. It is another form of "therapy". Glad to hear about your 10/22. Hope you get the AK trigger problem corrected.

Interested in hearing about this trigger issue. Haven't had that problem, but would like to know just in case it happens to me.

Indeed... I will have to seek someone far more knowledgeable than I am on this problem because I just cannot recreate the problem on the bench at home. My only other option is to return to the range, recreate the problem there, and carefully open it up in hope of figuring it out that way.

Just a thought, but is it possible that the bolt opened far enough to eject the spent cartridge, but not far enough to recock the gun? Or did it open all the way, and the bolt simply didn't remain to the rear? Or maybe I'm way off base. Maybe a low powered round that didn't have enough pressure to fully open the bolt?
Don't know, just thinking out loud.

A simple troubleshooting idea is to try a box of different ammo. Does it still happen?

Or did it open all the way, and the bolt simply didn't remain to the rear? Or maybe I'm way off base. Maybe a low powered round that didn't have enough pressure to fully open the bolt?

Excellent ideas... Just happen to have a different batch of ammo that "should" be better quality and will definitely try that the next trip. Thanks guys!
