A Different Snub GP100

I have a Willy Clapp Edition GP100 which has the 3 Inch barrel, Dovetailed Novak 1911 sights, special rubber grips, and a Non Shiney finish to the Stainless Steel. Pretty neat GP100, but not the one I am talking about here.

Normally when you look for a 3 Inch GP100 it has a Pinned Front Sight and a machined in back sight like most SP101's.

I stopped by my local dealer and he had something different.

This Beauty is a GP100, with 3 Inch Barrel, and Adjustable Sights, in 38 Special +P Chambering.
Model Number: 01751, and Catalog Number: KGP-831
Normally ones like this are for Law Enforcement Distributors, and ship to Security Guard Companies. Apparently some big cities have antiquated city ordinances requiring Guards to carry 38 Special Revolvers. If you hang out on the Smith & Wesson Forum you will read about a 3 Inch, 38 Special, 6 Shot, 686 now and again. Pretty rare also and normally expensive to boot.

I am pretty happy to add this to my Herd of Revolvers.

Rhino I have a couple SP101's also. One is a 2.25 Inch 38 Special, and the other a 3-1/16 Inch 357 Magnum. Gemini Fiber Optic Front Sights, and Altamont Fish Scale Grips. I really like the SP101's also. Holsters are Rocky Hill Leather Pancakes.

And when I like to punch big holes I have a 480 Ruger Super RedHawk with a 30mm UltraDot. My Deer Hunting Revolver.

I'm not slighting the gun. It's a fine collectable and I like GP100s. I'm just personally not the collectable kind of guy. I'm more the functional type. I have a collection of guns, but not because they're collectable, if that makes sense. And my SP101 is a 2.25 inch 357 Magnum.
