9mm lottery!!

Well....not exactly but it feels like I hit the lottery. In my area of Massachusetts, 9mm FMJ is damn near impossible to find. I like Winchester, Remington or American Eagle for the range but WalMart hardly ever has any and I refuse to pay the same price for half the rounds at my LGS. WalMart tells me to check every day as the get shipments of different stuff every day and it'll sell quickly but who has time to do that every friggen day?

So I went to a New Hampshire Walmart and they had a full array of everything. I drove about 120 miles (round trip) to get it and think I will do the same about every other month or so.

Even cooler about NH is they don't ask for ID or anything. Not even your driver's license.

You know, you could always purchase online. I find better deals online than I ever have found at Wally's world.

Any the nice UPS man brings it right to my door.

+1 for reloading. I'm in CT and finding with the new BS law online retailers won't ship ammo. Haven't had the money to buy components yet; but pretty sure they'll still ship and I can make all I can shoot.

I haven't found that to be the case out here. I can usually find 9mm WWB for just under $27/100. I can't find anything except steel-cased import stuff anywhere near that price, and that's before I add shipping.

As for as online shopping.
Slickguns.com lists all the prices for online retailers and one easy chart. Don't have to spend time fumbling around on sites to see what's in stock

Don't the shipping costs for ammo purchased online wipe out the advantage?

If that's the case, then I don't buy it. There are many times when there are "free shipping" or other deals going on. When I venture upon a good deal online, I buy in bulk and maximize the savings.

If you have an android phone you can download the Walmart app. When you look up 9mm ammo it comes up with all the different brands they carry. Click on each individual brand and it comes up with several store locations near your "Home" location with inventory availability. If it says "out of stock" there is none. I don't remember what the other message is, maybe "unknown" but if it doesn't say out of stock it is on the truck waiting to be unloaded, on the shelves, or your too late and somebody already bought it. Keep a close eye on it with your phone and call when it doesn't say "out of stock". You can usually get there and be first in line waiting for the truck to be unloaded. Beats driving 120 miles and worked for me several times.
