Went through one yesterday.

Have you been drinking today? No. Do you have any drugs or weapons? Yes, I have a licensed Beretta 3032 in my front pocket. May I see your permit... OK, stay safe.

My standard response here is that in a situation like this I don’t say anything to the police but “Am I free to go?” “I do not consent to any searches” and “I would like to speak to an attorney before answering any questions.” I am also required by Colorado law to present my DL on demand so I would have given that up and I’m required to answer honestly if asked if I’m armed.

Like it or not TPTB say check points are OK
