Zimmerman pulled over in Texas for speeding

Just saw on the news tonight he was pulled over just east of Dallas for speeding. Cop didn't know who he was at first, but GZ informed he was carrying concealed (as required in TX). LEO checks for warrants, comes back and tells him to slow down and doesn't write him a ticket. J

High School "Gun Free Zone" sign?

My daughter's high school has a sign at entrance to parking lot that says something like "Drug and Gun Free Zone" and then in smaller print underneath I saw the word "Federal". I'm curious if this means that I can't bring my weapons on campus? The Texas CHL laws say that you are allowed to...

How many times have you been pulled/ticketed?

So, the last time I posted a question, I was ridiculed for it. Asking if you had contemplated being pulled over to see what would happen. That's ok, I don't mind all that. Now, I'm wondering how often you've been pulled over/ticketed? In my 30+ years since college, my answer is 0/0. J

    Be honest, didn't you ...

secretly want to get pulled over when you first got your Concealed Carry permit? Just so you could see what would happen? I know I have had thoughts like that. Luckily, so far, I have not been pulled since I got mine over a year ago. J

    Possible Road Rage Incident

So, I was on a business trip to Fl and, of course, did not have my EDC. (would love to hear how others take theirs with them on trips that require flying) Anyway, was out late one night and driving back to the hotel. Not much traffic on the road, 3, maybe 4 lanes wide. Coming up behind me, a...

    In-laws visiting

So, the in-laws are in town visiting. We are getting ready to go out to dinner and I'm in my bedroom, chilling out on the bed. I have my EDC on my right hip in a Crossbread super tuck, without my cover shirt on. He comes in to ask me to help him with his computer and sees my Stoeger Cougar 9mm...

    would you rather

So, lots of threads on here that espouse making sure you have proper training for carrying. Concealed or open, would you rather others carry even without a high level of training, or would you rather they don't carry? J

    What a find!

So, spent the night in a nice hotel downtown with my wife, and while she's getting ready, I check out the room. See the room safe in the closet. Open it up, doesn't appear to be anything in it but the instruction sheet, but then I noticed something all the way in the back. The safe was a bit...

How do you adjust your CC discreetly?

I was at soccer practice today (I'm a coach, and this was a special session being coached by another, I was just watching/chasing balls) and my IWB holster came loose from my belt on one end. No exposure or anything but I had to adjust my holster and found myself wondering how to do so without...

Concealed carry to gun shop for repair

If you conceal carry into the gun shop in order to have your handgun serviced, how do you get the gun out of the carry holster without it being "brandished"? Do you have to carry it into the store in a locked box? Thanks, J

    CHL Class Instructor attitude

So I'm in the CHL class in Tx and had prepared ahead of time by reading up on the CHL laws that I could find, wanting to be prepared. The instructor, who is a LEO, starts talking about the laws. Specifically, he talks about the notify law, where you have to hand your CHL along with DL when ask...
