    Senate Bill 681 status?

I understand this bill related to ammunition purchase but Governor Quinn re-wrote it to be an "assault" weapon ban. The changed bill went back to the state senate where Q's changes were rejected 49-to-4. It was supposed to go to the House---anything happen there yet?

I enjoy occasional trips to New Mexico, so I have familarized myself with your firearms laws. New Mexico is the only state (of which I am aware) that prohibits permit holders from carrying back up guns. I have no problem with that since I rarely carry a BUG anyway, but I am interested in how...

    instant renewal!

OK, not really instant, but from the time I walked into my sheriff's office today about 20 minutes elapsed before I walked out with my renewed permit. Pretty good! Even better, Colorado permits are now recognized in Nebraska.

    Residency Requirement for Reciprocity

I heard the same; I think the map-application here is behind the times. Link Removed did recently change the map there to show that WV is no longer one of the "yellow" states. My FL permit now authorizes me to be safe in WV, but I have no reason to ever go there.
