Answering this for anyone interested. In Ohio an out of state CCW license is valid until it expires IF the Ohio has reciprocity with that state even if you have an Ohio driver's license. Upon expiration of the out of state license it is no longer valid and then an Ohio CCW license presently...
I've never heard of that causing anything but possible striker tip breakage but even that is very rare in quality made handguns. The reports of the Sig P365 striker drag has been one of the discussions with few incidences of breakage.

Yes you can! Reciprocity allows the license to be valid until it expires then the requirement is taking the Ohio 8 hour class to apply...
