Does anyone know of some outdoor shooting ranges near the Greenville area that won't cost me a membership?
I want to be able to practice in a more realistic environment.
Also would like to practice live draw without a table in the way.
Thanks
During our class, we were told that the applications go first to Quantico, then Sled, then local Sheriff.
The instructor also said not to keep calling SLED for update.
But, with all the electronic information out there, is there a way to electronically (internet) check where my application is?

A lady who was paying attention help police arrest a man stealing packages from UPS.
The part I like is she was asked why she wasn't afraid to go to police, and she said "I have my CWP, and I'm not afraid to use it"
Way to go Aveiro! a Local Hero.
I want to start by saying the US is the greatest country on earth. And I don't advocate running when things get rough. But
I grew up about 200 years ago when things were simpler and you never saw a car or house locked.
Now, if you don't arm yourself to protect your family you are just asking...
I have always worn wide leather belts for as long as I can remember.
But I hear that a good belt is required.
My Cross Breed holster came today, and I only had one hole left for expanding it, and needed two.
So, I need to get a new belt, so I might as well get the right kind.
Is a wide (about...
I realize I might be asking this on the wrong forum, but, I am curious.
I spoke with one long time gun advocate and concealed carry person and his opinion was that for the typical person that carries that insurance was a waste of money.
Another said I would be stupid not to get it.
I know there...
I am thinking of getting a rail mount flashlight for my Beretta PX4 Compact instead of trying to juggle a handheld one.
Problem is, there are as many kinds of flashlights out there as thee are guns.
Is a rail mount the same for all makes?
How bright (Lumens) is recommended?
Is there a name...
The instructor in my class yesterday talked about how full to fill your mag. He said that in a gun fight when you are slamming the next magazine in that it can go in and chamber a round but not latch and stay in. He demonstrated with his Glock that as he fired the round that loaded the...
I was reading on another thread a comment I hear a lot.
I have a Beretta PX4 Compact, and use Federal HST HP for defense. I have heard fire a few rounds of the more expensive defense rounds to be sure they work in your gun. I have heard fire 50 rounds.
I may be dumb, but if 10 rounds works...
I just watched the video and read through some posts on fuhr52 "Lock and Load" thread, which is excellent.
I don't have my holster yet, (or CCW) but when I do, is there any studies that show which position to have the holster is actually faster?
2:00? 4:00? gun striaght up? Tipped forward...
I know that videos can never take the place of actual classes with instructors and good teaching/training/practice.
BUT
Until I can get the time and $$$ to take all the classes I want, I have been gathering some videos to help me start off in the correct direction.
So far I have (but not...
