  • I am sorry about being so late getting back to you. On your question, I have a 4x32 scope(Tasco) on my marlin 336 .30-30. I have found it to be really good for the .30-30. I am about to turn 40 myself, and I know what you are saying.I think you would be very disappointed with a lower power scope on your rifle. I recently had a cheap ($15) on my .22 rifle and had a lot of trouble hitting anything. I replaced it with a Bushnell 4x32 and was able to hit bottle caps standing at 50 yards. The Bushnell can be found at Walmart for around $35 and it is one of the best scopes I have ever used. I really works good in lower light conditions. ( I am thinking about replacing the Tasco 4x32 with a Bushnell on my .30-30 I don't think you would be disappointed at 100+ yards. The .30-30 seem to rapidly drop past 125 yards, I would try it and I think you would like it. Best wishes and email me back it I can help you anymore.
