What I saw this weekend

God Bless Our Troops!!!
My family and I took a 4 hour roadtrip in search of a 1970-73 nova for my son. While on the road a guy on I-65 in Alabama was letting the whole world see his Glock while weaving in and out of traffic on his bent over little rocket bike. I was a little surprised to see this but it was securely tucked in an inside the waste band type holster.
His jacket and shirt had pulled up and the wind carried them up over his back...exposing his weapon.
Thoughts?
Concerns?
Comments?

Sweet Home Alabama! Yeah, we are pretty liberal in our ways of carry here. Just have to use some common sense when doing so. Would he get pulled over? No. Would he scare the hell out of Nancy Pelosi? YES!

Carrying on a motorcycle is a bitch, ain't it?
Thoughts?
So what?
Concerns?
None at all, open carry should be universally acceptable.
Comments?
Laws vary from state to state and all of them restrict our rights to one degree or another. This is too uncommon:

love the pic!!!

My thoughts. If it is legal for him in Alabama to carry open then there is no problem if that is the way he wants to carry. Would I myself do it ? No because I would rather carry concealed as I would rather have the element of surprise on my side if I need to use it.

EXACTLY. I have no problem with open-carry, but I would much rather not advertise to other folks what I have on me.

Did you find a nova?

Seriously, a glimpse of a properly holstered pistol? "Oooh, what kind is it, maybe its one I might want to buy later" would be pretty much the extent of it (I regularly OC myself, so maybe that's where my viewpoint comes from).

I had a white 4 door 73 Nova for a little over a year. It was in rough shape but it got me around till I finished the 68 Chevelle. That car was a blast with a 383 stroker. Then I traded for a sportbike and some cash.

I usually carry my Kel Tec in the pocket when I'm on my sportbike for this very reason.

Legal carry in AL., then no problem. As Others have said too, I would still prefer to Conceal anyway.
1972 SS for sale here in Plaistow, NH. ($8000.00). Sorry, no car porn though (I think it's a SS). You your Son know you cars!

With AL open carry legal, I have no problem, no comments... I say, ride away!! I am much more concerned about his manner of driving!

When I used to ride a motorcycle it was the only means of transportation I had at the time. One day while on my bike going to the range for some target practice I had a Mini 14 strapped across my back. A local LEO pulled me over. I never unslung my weapon but waited on my bike with the engine turned off to see how this was going to play out. The LEO asked to see my Mini 14, checked to make sure I didn't have a live round in the chamber or loaded mag inserted. He then inspected my Mini 14 asking me questions about where did I get the folding stock, heat proof handguard and other add-on's. It was more conversational than anything else. The LEO handed me back my rifle, told me to have a good day and left. I have several friends who ride motorcycles, mostly Harley's, that carry open when ridding and none of them have ever been stopped. These friends all have non-resident FL CCW permits so even if they were stopped they would be legal. In Louisiana it is legal to carry open but not recommended. It's also legal to carry a handgun inside your vehicle without a permit as your vehicle is considered an extension of your home.
