Maryland Concealed Carry Permit

Maryland does not currently recognize any other states CCW permit, so getting a Pa. permit would be useless. I say check the states you already have coverage for and what you would pickup on a Pa. N/R permit. Is it worth it? I have a De. and Pa. permit, yes it is worth it for me.

Not just useless, but almost impossible anyway. PA will not issue a permit unless you have a home state permit first, which for law abiding citizens in MD, is almost impossible to get

Thanks for the information, it is greatly appreciated. Yes, Maryland is a very restrictive state, not only when it comes to firearms, but taxes, liquor laws, rain tax, etc. There needs to be a general purge of crones that cater to the affluent minority that make decisions for the majority law abiding citizens. Too many policies are created / staffed and approved by the self-anointed ones in Maryland government. Citizens are not afforded their constitutional right to make important decisions.
It is very important for Marylanders to make their voices heard at this year rally in Annapolis.

And for all the laws and restrictions they have in Maryland, it didn't stop the guy from walking into the Columbia Mall with a shotgun(Biden's favorite) and gunning down 2 young people and then killing himself. But, maybe, just maybe if someone had a concealed carry, it may have ended with only the perp dead.

Wise up Maryland!

Saturday’s tragedy at Columbia Mall is a sad testament to mankind and lack of good mental health.
If law abiding citizens were carrying it would have been over quicker. “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away!”
But the Liberal gun control extremists will turn this around and use this as a reason to enact more firearm restrictions.

Best way to get the Maryland Conceal Carry permit is to follow the same procedure as Florida CCP also employ the services of a certified training company. Your G & S reason will need to be a business with random documented deposits.

I am a 70 year old cancer survivor, semi-retired general purpose veterinarian with limited disabilities resulting from health issues. I do access our office which does contain medications(controlled). I do answer the occasional emergency at night and the neighborhood is in some degree of decline(read that as you will). I can get reasonable references, from LEO , or security people(large local hospital). The question I have at this time , what are the probabilities of getting the CCP at this time in our peoples Republic of New Maryland? Just wonder how the water is at the moment.

Well, it is now day 231 and I am still waiting for mine. You will need to have notarized statements supporting (proving) your need for protection. It is a pain and will take a long time. Good luck.

IMO unless you actually carry narcotics, your chances of a permit aren't good.

Swinokur, Still go on farm calls, not many, at any time of day or night. Euthanasia requires schedule drugs. Tranq for horses is controlled substance in MD. Tricky parts- MD does not issue an ID card for vets, also there is no legal provision for us to carry drugs off premises, aint it wonderful? Ive had to put horses down at 3AM, and a horse with a broken leg can be a dangerous handful- horses don't deal with pain well. Carry would be useful under those circumstances.

I have heard 2nd hand reports that MD is even turning down physicians who carry narcotics. Welcome to the Free State

So basically there is no such thing as a Maryland Concealed Carry Permit. So how do you expect Maryland HB 62, that would allow De., VA, and PA. permit holders to carry in Maryland, to go anywhere in the MD. Legislature. They have tried it several times and the bills get swept up with the trash on the floor.

Hubs has a LEOSA. But I will not waste my time and money on a MD rejection letter. They simply won't issue. We have a home in FL and I submitted my paperwork for FL CCW. Reciprocity in 34 states (just not the socialist state of MD or DC :-/ looking forward to permanently escaping this bizarro world and spending all my days in FL (or anywhere south of DC for that matter). FL also issues non resident CCWs

So, if I have a Florida resident CCW (second home) I can get a PA CCW a that may (at some point in the distant future) be permitted reciprocity in MD (should the legislation pass) ?

Maryland does not have reciprocity with any other states permits. So no matter what CCW permit you have or what state it's from, Maryland does not recognize it. And, as I've said before, getting a CCW permit in Maryland is next to non-existent. They are worse than any state I can think of.
I was ashamedly born there, but moved away when I was 18. I now live in another state, have 2 CCW permits that cover about 25 states, but not Maryland. I seldom go there. Boooo Maryland!

Move to FLorida and moved my business in 1987 just because of the gun rules there. Interesting story. I was a armed security guard and firearms instructor for a major national company. Lisc. to carry a gun on the job. Could not get a personal carry permit.......Never regretted moving out of that communist state.

Finally I have my appeal hearing scheduled for the end-of-the-month. Maybe they will rule in my favor. This all started with my application (November, last year) for CC being rejected (without reason).

Have a friend that is a retired Md. State Police officer and he says it is a pain to get permit renewed for him in MD. MD is the Illinois of the east.

Why wouldn't your friend just get his LEOSA. Yes, you have to qualify (just as he did when he was a trooper) every year.? But it is Federal, good in all 50 states.
