Vegas Casino carry?

alcohol and CCW in Nevada

You can legally drink alcohol while carrying concealed in Nevada.

I do not recommend it, but it is allowed.

NRS 202.257 states that it is illegal for you to possess a firearm and have a BAC equal to or greater than 0.10.

So, as long as your BAC is under 0.10, you can legally carry concealed and consume alcohol.

Nevada Recognition

IIRC, as of this time, no. I don't believe NV has entered into reciprocity with any state, and Utah may not happen since they do not require live fire training. Sucks, because I have a UT non-res permit too. Your best bet is to acquire a NV non-res permit while you're there.
As of 10/1/07, Nevada recognizes permits from several states, Utah is among them. I can't find the source right now, but I believe I read the news on this site.

Edited to add: Sorry, I added this post before reading the entire thread.

It has been a while since I have been to Vegas but I am wondering, do any of the casinos have inside access to other buildings/casinos? Lets say you walk into a casino that has no signs prohibiting guns. Your'e not drinking so not a problem. Way back in the casino is an entrance going into another casino or store..not known to you, outside at that store main entrance is a sign "NO WEAPONS BEYOND THIS POINT"..now what? I can see where one could possibly be embarrassed infront of many...

There are several casinos that are connected via long hallways. I guess if one had a sign saying no handguns, I would turn around and go back. I don't remember ever seeing any that were posted, but I have never carried there and probably wasn't paying attention. I don't know about NV, but in TN there has to be a sign on every entrance.

They need to have signs posted at every public entrance.

The only casino in Las Vegas I know that posts signs is the Stratosphere and that was about 3 years ago. Saw the sign and never been there since. They may have changed but I don't know. No other casino on the Vegas strip posts signs or uses metal detectors at any of their public entrances.

Some types of business you might see signs posted are spas, night clubs, strip clubs and brothels. I think you have a better chance at seeing a sign prohibiting weapons at Wal-Mart then you do at a casino in Nevada.
